Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I was searching for a craft table to go in the central area of my craft loft. I stumbled upon this, not knowing they even made 'sewing' furniture! I have a machine and just ordered an embroidery machine, so this was PERFECT! When I was debating this I was hoping to see more photos of the inside completely opened up. So, I am posting one of it that way for others to see. The inside right is great for holding my sewing machine and sewing box. It comes with a second shelf, but I don't need it. The instruction book is very easy to use, all pieces (and extras) were included for assembly. The boards were in good shape except for one scratch (on the table top, go figure). It is more of a knick, so I will just color it and forget it. The book also tells you the weight limits for each surface. It looks like a very expensive piece and feels sturdy. I love that I can easily wheel it to a corner when it's not in use. I am 5'2", 110 pounds- In the box this thing was nearly impossible for me to even drag across my porch! I put it together on my own, determined to not have to ask for my hubby's help :) My 6 y.o. helped hold a piece two times just for some added support. I was able to assemble this well using a hand screwdriver, but you could use a drill to make it go faster! It took me about 1.5 hours to put together. The front wheels are locking. The brace (front door) for the leaf is secured with a plastic pin that pushes up into a hole in the bottom of the leaf. Mine is a little crooked for some reason. I put the pin in the pre-drilled holes, but I may have to adjust it with new holes. I would recommend having a leg to put under the back corner if you are going to put any amount of weight on the leaf area. Also, the left and center door do not fold (meaning if bins aren't on obviously)- they are screwed together with metal that keeps them flush. The storage bins can be popped off if you loosen the screws just a tad. Be sure to tighten them or they will fall if bumped from underneath (like by a curious 2 year old). All in all it is an awesome piece and I am very happy with it. The box says "Made in the USA" but then I did read some pieces are from overseas.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice design for sewing center I purchased this for storage and use of a portable sewing machine, and it arrived within a couple of days of purchase order. The only defect was a chipped corner of one board, and , fortunately, that is not apparent on the assembled product. The only other problem I've encountered is with a small piece that stabilizes the drop leaf when it is raised. For some reason it does not consistently line up exactly with the hole it must insert into, requiring some extra manipulation. Although I have always been very handy, the weight of this product and its pieces made handling it alone difficult for me -- especially when some steps required changing position of the partially-assembled product. Because of this, it took me a few exhausting hours to complete assembly, although the instructions were better than those I've had to follow for many other products. I am able to store all the items I usually keep at my sewing machine site, and find the special shelves exposed when the double door is open very handy for holding frequently used items, including "reading" glasses. I like being able to store my machine on the hidden shelf behind the closed double doors, and can even fit a narrow waste basket there, as well. There is good stability for sewing; but, having no other choice in my home, I have this unit on carpeting that makes the rolling of such a heavy unit another hefty effort. And the rolling is needed in order to gain the room needed to raise the drop leaf. I expect this would be much easier on a non-carpeted floor, or, obviously, if I had a site to place it where there was sufficient space at left of cabinet so moving wouldn't be needed when raising the drop leaf. One other thing I like about this unit is that, due to the cabinet on the right side, the way I'm situated for sewing (and, therefore, the position of the machine) allows for more table-top space to the right side of the machine than I've had with previous sewing cabinets. I'm finding it easier to keep pins, scissors, etc. at hand without them becoming an entangled pile. I've only been using the unit for about a week, so I don't know how well it will hold up. The only thing I'm actually concerned about, after having seen the chipped piece, is whether the finish will crack or chip over time. Otherwise, I can say that I'm pleased with the purchase. I find it helpful to read other consumers' pros and cons about products and would appreciate if you'd indicate whether my comments have been helpful to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this item. I was prepared for the plastic trays to be broken upon arrival. I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised they were intact. The drop leaf didn't fit with the support exactly as it was suppose to. The pin didn't fit in with the hole to hold it in place. I can't say if it was a production error or the person who put it together for me. It was an easy fix and now it is perfect. It is very sturdy and very useful. It is definitely worth 100 bucks. When the leaf is open this table is about 58 inches long, so be prepared to have a lot of room for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble. Looks great. Suits purpose. I was looking for a reasonably priced sewing table, which would double as a piece of furniture in our spare room. The Sauder sewing and craft table has delivered just that. Assembly It was easy to build - I put it together myself with my boyfriend lending an extra pair of hands for hanging the doors - in a couple of hours. The instructions were easy to follow, and the pieces were clearly marked. Finished result A nice solid bit of furniture which cleverly hides its practical purposes. My sewing machine sits neatly on the shelf behind the door, and the plastic storage containers hold all of the sewing paraphernalia that can become a tangled mess in your sewing box. I particularly like the shelves in the cupboard which are deep enough to store my sewing box and books. The extendable working surface is a great feature too. It'll be ideal when sewing long skirts, trousers, or curtains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sewing table especially for small rooms! I absolutely love this table! I have it set up in our living room in our one bedroom apartment so it's a cramped space and I have a small corner for my sewing. When this table is fully open I feel like I have my own custom made space compared to trying to sew on our ottoman. I got the dark wood so it matches the rest of our furniture and it's got beautiful markings and the knobs match wonderfully. The shelves and the organizing racks are great for me to be able to keep all of my things at an arms length with out having to search and dig. Mine did have a small dink in it and while I was putting it together it did bother me but now it's assembled I barely notice it. I assembled it myself and with the right space I was in it took me about 2 hours trying to figure out how to rotate everything so I had room to hammer. I recommend this for anyone especially people who don't have a lot of space, this has wheels so you can pull it out and open it and sew and then close it all up and roll it back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still sewing strong I purchased this sewing cabinet several years ago from Walmart.com. I remember that it assembled in about an hour and is still solid as a rock. I swear the top of it is made of iron! It doesn't scratch or nick. I have used this table for crafting & sewing. When open, it creates 5 feet of space. I keep it open and have stackables to the left up against the wall. There is plenty of space for storage of my sewing/embroidery machine & my felting machine. The little cabinet houses several stackable drawer units as well as the other door having plenty of space for tools etc. The only change I've made to the cabinet is switching out the hardware on the cabinet doors. I wanted plain wood look. It has never really increased in price over several years and I'm very glad that Sauder still makes it. Every sewer needs one!! Great value from Walmart and a great product from Sauder. I would recommend this cabinet to anyone looking for an attractive addition to their sewing/craft room.
