I purchased this shelf unit for storage in my garden shed and it has worked well in that application.  It went together without a glitch and if you are looking for a decent, inexpensive unit, this could work.  The wood is rough in places but we were able to assemble it with any knot holes or rough spots at the back.  I would say this is a good value for a very reasonable price.

A useful shelf unit

As in the many of these that i have put together the predrilled holes are not always a perfect fit. Probably because the pieces are not identified by number therfore not perhaps the way they are intended to fit with each other. Would be nice if shelves and corresponding 4 predrilled front/rear frame boards were numbered or lettered so they would match properly.

Poor Construction

The long boards come in two pieces that are supposed to be pieced together by pegs. None of the holes line up so it’s very wobbly. It’s not suitable for any areas where it may be frequently touched as the wood is very rough and splintery.

Reminiscent of a Neil Young song

This item is good only for firewood.  The wood is cracked or chipped in many places. I got 3 splinters taking it out of the wrapping. Please don't buy this product l

Only use is for firewood

The shelves come with screws to attach the four legs/main supports to the four corners of each of the shelves. This is not the reason it falls apart. The reason is that the shelves are made of slats. The slats are not held together by screws. They are tongue and groove and I do not think they are even glued. The grooves are cut into such thin pieces of wood that they split and most of the pieces do not fit together tightly anyway. imagine you were standing facing the assembled shelves. Now imagine you grab the legs/main supports on either side of a shelf and pull outwards. The unit would collapse because the tongue and groove would not hold and the slats would fall right down the middle. And that is just what they did. I'm so embarrassed it's a Canadian product.

Not functional,and here's why.

Bought this as it seemed cheaper than buying wood and making it myself, I was wrong. The shelves arrived half unwrapped (not purolator's fault as they were barely wrapped to begin with). I'm guessing that the shelves were supposed to be glued together as there was glue stuck to some of the loose pieces of wood in the pile I received. Every single piece was broken or dysfunctional in some way. Some were split, some had glue on them that had to be scraped off before putting the shelves back together, and some had dots where I'm assuming holes were supposed to be drilled but weren't. It took me a good 4 hours to put it together and a box of giant screws to make sure it actually stayed together when I let go. I should have returned it but put so much effort into it I didn't want to stop. I read the bad reviews before and thought that maybe it would be different for me, it wasn't. 10/10 would never ever recommend to anybody and I really think Walmart owes me a refund.

Very terrible product!!

It was difficult to put together because the holes for the dowels to stack the 2 halves of the shelves did not line up.  I ended up connecting the top and bottom halves with zap straps.  The shelves were not uniform in size and neither were the leg/ supports.  Once I got it together, it wobbled.  I had to put a shim under one of the legs.  Maybe considering the price of wood these days, it's OK.  But I recommend spening more money to buy a higher qualilty shelf to save yourself frustration.

Poor quality

I have ordered and put together 6 of these units over the past two years.. and loved them every single time.  So I ordered 2 more recently and was surprised when I received them that it appears there had been a manufacturer change (different packaging).  When I opened the plastic wrapping.. the shelves literally fell apart on their own.  I thought it was a fluke and opened the second package and the exact same thing happened.  Upon closer inspection .. it appears that the "tongue and groove" method that holds the individual shelves together are machined very sloppily and the shelves are only held in shape by the actual packaging.   I did call the help line and they were very supportive but bottom line is.. I will never purchase this product again online due to not being able to know which manufacturer is being used.

Manufacturer Change on Product

I have one of these shelves - bought it somewhere else years ago and I wanted another one and ordered it off the Walmart website.  When it arrived I was SO excited.  I started pulling it out of the box and it was absolute garbage.  The slats were loose from the main side pieces that hold the slats together (they aren't supposed to be loose), some of the wood flanges were cracked off and some of the pre-drilled holes for assembly were broken so even if the shelves were not broken, I could not have put this together.  I gave it (1) star because I couldn't give it less - and the return at the store was really easy - no questions asked.

TERRIBLE Product

Do not buy. The quality is terrible. Don't waste $70 on this. Pieces arrived broken, and it's so poorly made I couldn't even use all the shelves.
