Shockingly, babies don't need silence to sleep! A mother's womb is actually a loud place, and is comforting to babies. When dealing with a cranky or colicky baby, loud, constant noise can quickly help calm them down, especially when the noise is louder than their own crying. The Shhh...TM was made to give parents a break and designed with science in mind. It features three specific sounds to first calm down an upset baby (shushing noise), lull them into a calm state (heartbeat noise), and eventually keep them asleep (white noise). This portable, battery powered gadget, is a life-saver when baby is away from home, but needs to get some rest. It also features a timer, and nightlight which can even pulse in sync with the noise. Hopefully this soother saves a few parents from running laundry, or riding in the car in the middle of the night just to keep their sanity!

Timer Function

Designed for trips without needing an outlet nearby.

Has a gentle glow that can be turned on and off.

Can be convenient and portable, but also requires replacement effort.

Can be calming, but sound quality varies in authenticity.

I like the volume setting on the device. I wish it had an all night switch. I want to run it continuously.

walmart.com

I bought and used the first few hours received. Decent for price and size. Definitely recommend. I needed it for travel but will be using at home too. I bought protection plan for couple dlls. Just in case. Since its on the smaller size.

Pretty Good I recommend

My daughter who is two did really well with this sound machine in her room. Her and I really enjoyed the shushing sound the most but the heart beat sound was very soothing also. I woukd definetley recommened this to any of my friends with young children or expecting mothers

It does what I need it to do. it's not elegant or fancy. When you turn it to set the timer, it's an ugly crunching noise that sounds like you're breaking it. The buttons can be difficult at times, especially when it's the middle of the night and you're desperately tired. Nothing like battling button settings to try and get it how you need it for the round of broken sleep. Last thing, getting to the battery pack is like going deep sea fishing - unnecessarily difficult when there have been proven easier ways to go about it. The crunching noise and two screws later...don't imagine I will appreciate doing that on a few hours sleep in the middle of the night.
The loop cord is nice so I can hang it or loop it on my wrist as I desperately try everything to get the babe to sleep.

It does the job, but it could be better

It's definitely want what I expected or thought. And in order to put the batteries in it's complicated. There are limited sounds and it's NOT at all what I expected.

I don't like that it can't be plugged to allow a runtime longer than 30 minutes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't pleased with it because only worked on batteries and only runs for 3 hrs. Will return to store and keep looking.

Returned it. Will only run for a max of 30 min. Babies nap longer than that and will wake up when it cuts off.

It makes no sense that there are two screws to put the batteries in and one is so tiny. You can't get it out.

Shh...™ Portable Baby Soother in grey and white with a compact, rounded design, featuring tactile 3-D buttons for volume, light, and sound control, plus a wrist strap for portability, designed to soothe babies with shushing, heartbeat, and white noise sounds.
