Can you love a trash can? Yes, I do. I've wanted this can for 2-years but it was so expensive. I just couldn't justify it… until 2-weeks ago. This is the best can ever. quality built in every aspect you could think of. I absolutely love it. I love that the step on goes all the way across the front. I love how easy it is to change a bag. I love how much trash it holds. I love that it came with a free air freshener to try out. simplehuman thought of everything. It is amazing! I only wish I didn't wait so long. It's worth it.

Best Quality Trash Can Ever Built

It is very quiet and user-friendly.  We used this to replace a touchless battery-operated, automatic trash can as it only lasted us a year,  and we kept experiencing problems and having to replace batteries every 3 weeks.   Needless to say, this one was a much better experience for us and solved our disappointment with the previous automated one.  We absolutely love it and are more than satisfied.  It is easy to use, hands-free, and looks great in our kitchen.  We get compliments on it often!  We highly recommend it.

Better than the battery-operated automatic ones

What we replaced: We replaced a previous simple human trash can with this one. Our prior trash can lid was metal and over time started not closing correctly — it became slightly bent and never sat in the lid recess nicely anymore. This trash can also had the inner sleeve that the bag sits in, so to change the trash, you pull that out. It felt like we had to take out the trash all the time. Sometimes I'd occasionally catch the drawstring cord on an inner tab and it would rip the drawstring and make it almost impossible during the process. I was also constantly cleaning the inside of the top because it would always collect dust, food particles, you name it in the finger recesses to pull the liner out - yuck.  

This new trash can: it's amazing in every way in comparison. There is a foot bar that runs the entire length of the can and it's a very slow and quiet close. The lid is plastic but it sits in a deeper recess for a seamless close. There's no bag liner so there's more room to fill the bag up — so less frequent trash trips. I no longer have to worry about pulling out the liner and potentially getting caught on anything in the process. When it comes to changing the bag/taking out the trash, you lift the entire lid part to expose the can opening. You take the bag out and it's full maximizing the entire bag while still closing easily. No need to sit the bag against something else to fill it with other things that didn't fit in the can originally before closing. 
This can also has a recess in the back to store trash bags, which simplehuman provides to get you started. Their bags are nice but expensive and we use glad forceflex and have a lot left since we buy in bulk. We'll try adding a few of those in there for easy access. Then the new bag goes in and you put the drawstring part over the edge of the can, then close the entire top of the can (it's hinged, not detached). This covers the drawstring and holds the bag securely.  Definitely worth the cost. It's also cheaper at Walmart than simplehumans website.

Less emptying! Better all around!

The storage of the replacement trash can liners, the whole touch free experience. As well as the refill liquid smell good!

Like it very much had one but a stainless top but I like this top better easier to keep clean and does not show scratches or dents

Love that this trash can is hands-free and so far I've had no issues with odors.  I have a small kitchen and this is a plus!
