Snow Joe Ultra 15-Amp Electric Snow Thrower - 18 Inch is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient for my Purpose I just needed a small snowblower to go from my back door to the driveway that the neighbor for us. This is convenient to store and easy to use. No fussing with gas and oil or to try to start it in colder weather. I pull it out, plug it in and make one or two passed and I put it away. It is able to handle how ever much snow we got so far this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product at a reasonable price I had a specific purpose for buying the Snow Joe Electric Snow Thrower, to remove snow from a slow pitch roof, (1330 sq. ft.). Granted, this product was not designed for this purpose, but because of the light weight, 32.4 lbs. , the curved skid shoes and ease of maneuvering and operation, it was perfect and actually performed better than I expected. My roof is a sheet rubber covering on one side and an asphalt shingle on the far end. I had to be careful not to go against the lay of the shingles for obvious reasons. The scraper bar an the bottom of the thrower could easily pry up the exposed lip of the shingle and tear the shingle apart. I should also mention that the snow was moderately damp and somewhat heavy. Yet, the performance of this snow thrower was not compromised. The throwing distance was about 12 to 15 feet. Can't wait to try the thrower on light, powdered snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electric won't get the job done. WRONG My large two stage gas 8.5 hp snow blower engine balled up. What to do now? Spend $400. to fix, $900 to replace or $250 for new SNOWJOE. I live in Michigan where we have had a record snow fall this January. The Snow Joe Ultra 18-IN 15 AMP Electric Snow Thrower with Light - SJ623E has done a great job on my 60'x 40' driveway. If you are on the fence about snow throwers, just buy a SNOWJOE and move on with life. You will not be sorry!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great when it works This product is great when it works. While not strong enough to handle a snow bank on it's own, it does a wonderful job when I break the snowbank down into small pieces with the shovel and use the snowjoe to blow the snow onto my lawn. Since that was the intended purpose for the purchase and I prefer to handle an electrical cord over a gas blower that requires oil changes etc, very happy with the product. WHEN IT WORKS. The pulley on the product is made in plastic, and as the reviews for the pulley state, not nearly adequate. The pulley is the weak part of the machine, and since this is a general product weakness, are constantly back-order (read reviews for pulley wheel 622-82 on this site). When they are back-order, pull out your shovel folks, the snowjoe does nothing other than take up space in the garage until the pulley is back in stock. SnowJoe needs to address this problem by using a metal pulley.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very powerful and light I bought this thing for my mom to use. She wanted a power shovel, but those are little better than toys. I figured since I would be the one to use it most of the time I would get something with some power. This baby does have power. I was busting thru the pile left by the snowplow like no tomorrow. You do have to use some common sense. This is electric. You can bog it down. I was taking about a quarter of a bite on the snowplow berm that was higher than the snowblower. Remember, just go slow and it will handle it. If you get into very wet slushy snow, it will not throw it much farther than about 3-4 feet. Dry snow I could throw over the road. It seemed to do as well as my neighbor's gas snowblower. If you are looking for something lightweight and powerful, buy this. I don't think I would waste any money on the lower amp model. It does not save on weight. The only thing I didn't like was the stupid plugin on this thing. I cut it off and installed a real plug so I could use my heavy cord. Just something to keep in mind if you have extension cords without the moulded ends. And for those of you with questions about rocks, this thing will throw rocks like a teenager with a slingshot. Just remember to keep it tilted up a little when you are blowing on a stone driveway. It didn't seem to hurt it or even leave any marks inside the chute, but it sure threw a lot of rocks in the yard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected Got to use this only once so far in a few inches of snow. It's not too powerful so must move slow and, of coarse, the extension cord always being in the way was a pain - but that's exactly what I was expecting anyway. Aside from that, it's still a convenient little tool to have around in the winter for clearing the walkways & around the cars. I wouldn't attempt to do my whole driveway with this, though. Still have a plow guy come for that. The thrower rotating chute control seems pretty flimsy but works OK. It weighs about 32 lbs. so is light enough to move around without being powered and if you want to hang it for storage. This thing doesn't function like a full-blown snow blower, nor was I expecting it to. So for 200 bucks . . . I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase.
