I would normally give this a 4 star rating as there are a few things that are not optimal.
But I bought it on sale on Black Friday and paid $168......so yeah....I can live with these small imperfections.
The Good:
-Small system, takes very little space
-Easy set up, not that this is usually a difficult task, but this is easier than many.
-Surprisingly good sound for a small system, very clear and balanced, dialog can be heard even with lots of background effects.....
-Wifi connect for Streaming

The not so good:
-Takes longer to connect to Netflix than my other systems
-Does not have additional HDMI input to connect anything else....

Great little Home Theater system

Works great, and perfect for a smaller appt. or condo. It's amazing what a great sound, and great features this low priced unit offers. I bought 2 one for me, and one for my daughter. We're both impressed.
Online delivery was quicker than the web site advised.

Great Condo, or Apartment Unit

Read the instructions carefully, do not call tech support. I made that mistake after a half hour with the 1st tech who barely spoke english and who I seriously doubt he has ever seen nor used a surround sound system. I asked if I speak to someone who knew what he was doing he hung up on me. I called back and got a guy from USA and he tried walking me through the instructions that he seemed to be reading for the 1st time, at every opportunity he could imagine, he would say "there you go!" acting as if all was working well. I have a Sony Bravia TV which should be a match for the system. We couldn't get the sound to come out of the surround system. Every time he heard sound from the TV he would say "OK we got it!" no we didn't. When his shift was ending, he asked for my email and said he would research this and get back to me. It's been 2 weeks and I have not heard a word. I figured out it was a less than high quality HDMI cable that didn't communicate both ways. It is needed for the "ARC" setup of the Sony system. I switched out cable and the system works great.

Easy to set up, good looking, small speakers fit in to the room well. For the price it gives out a pleasing sound for tv and films, not so good for music though. Great connectivity to the internet Netflix iPlayer etc. One downside is that you have to go through the menus to adjust the speaker levels, you can't do it whilst listening to the sound so you have to guess it, and then go back through the menus if it is not right. Apart from that its easy to use ad fairly logical.

Good spec home theatre system. Has most things you will need for it to not go out of date too quickly, 2g wi-fi, bluetooth, etc. 
I am no expert when it comes to how great the picture is, but the few blurays i have watched looked better with this than the ps4 i use to use. 
Sound is crisp and clear from the voices to the bassy explosions. Sometimes i find i have to adjust the volume manually to hear quieter dialogues but for the most part no problem.
Only real gripe is the lack of HDR and perhaps the lack of 5g wi-fi. But the deep colour does a pretty good job displaying vibrant colours on screen. If you really want HDR you could always get one of the higher spec models.
Overall highly recomended.

I bought this recently to replace my old system which had failed and wanted the new Smart features. The main problem I have found is that you cannot get itvplayer or 4OD even though you can get on the internet due to Opera only being version 10 this is a big failure due to their popularity in the UK

Home Cinema system

You obviously have a high expectation when buying a Sony item and normally I would only get devices that matched I.E. Sony Home Entertainment System to go with a Sony Television, however, the other customer reviews as opposed to cost won me over and I am happy with the purchase. I shall outline the good and bad here I.E. What just stopped me giving it a "5"?
I'll get negatives out the way so that we end of positives but this is what genuinely prevented me just nudging it up to "5". That said, if 4.8 could be given, then I would give it that. 
A couple of times it has gone on a "go-slow" when trying to use apps.
It strikes me as odd (although you only have to do it once each time you turn the device on) that it goes through a 3 step start up to log-on. Although this only takes around 20 seconds, it feels like a backward step to me when my telly can go to these apps with no such fuss. 
Just a little asphectic as I wasn't expecting it when I brought it as no photos showed it but it has a little white light on the front which I can only assume is for novelty purposes. You can see it on the images and video below, however, me personally, I don't think it looks right. If you had the choice change its colour then maybe but just plain white?!  
THAT'S IT! Here's the good stuff:
Easy setup, lots of good apps as you would expect such as your standard ones. 
Good sound with the option of messing around with it so to speak I.E. Set it to "Movie" if watching a movie or "Music" if listening to music & so on. 
There have been a couple of times it has made me jump as I have positioned the speakers as per the manual and because one is behind my head, it sounds so like-like at times I have genuinely thought something was going on outside. 
Has all the connections you would want. I don't buy these systems as a matter of course for the DVD or Blu-ray player. All I am interested in is good quality sound for the surround sound whilst watching basic television. This system does come with a "Optical In" however I did not need one as the HDMI cable was sufficient and worked well with both connection to my TV & satellite receiver.

Good all round and happy I purchased this one.

This unit is very easy to set up and configure. The sound is great and it plays DVDs and Blu-Rays great. Only negatives are that the speaker wires are a bit short for setting up in a larger room. Our family room is 16X24. I made it work, but would have had to cut the speaker wires and splice in extensions to get the speaker to where the old speakers were located. I believe the length of the front speaker wires were about 10 feet and the rear speaker wires were about 25 feet. The other feature I thought was there but was not, was an HDMI input. Would really have liked this but I guess you have to spend more to get that. BTW. great for playing all your media streaming including Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, etc. Included built in WiFi which was easy to configure. Great overall unit for the price.

Good, but could be much better with a few tweaks

I did some shopping around and finally choose this system. Set up was not too bad, just glad my son was here to help as the instructions are just a little overwhelming or not as well written as I would have liked. DO SOME RESEARCH ON PRICE!!! This item was listed on Walmart's web page and stated item could be picked up in store within 3 days. I purchased the system via their web page only to find out it was out of stock. I kept getting updates on the delivery date, which was great. One day I stopped by my local Walmart and found THREE units on the shelf and mine still on back order. The difference? The ones on the shelf were $50 cheaper. I am happy with this system.

I'm happy with it....

When watching a Blu-Ray or DVD, the player randomly shuts off, even with brand new discs. The item has a warranty, but it does NOT cover shipping the unit back to Sony for repair. I personally feel I should not have to pay $50 to return something that should have worked the first time.

Also, the user guide and specification sheet says the player can play .MOV files through a USB connection, but the player is not fully MOV compatible. Several of my .MOV home movies will show the video, but the player says the audio format is not fully supported, so there is no sound to any of my home movies with a .MOV extension.
