Ratings & Reviews+

Star Wars The Force Awakens RC BB-8 Figure is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I expected and I am quite satisfied I do not understand any critique towards this item as it delivers exactly on its promise. It rolls around jus tlike in the movie and commercial. The dual button remote is all you need to get it to roll in every direction. The simple magnet design is ingenious. Of course it would fall when it hits a wall, its attached by magnets, allowing it to have that amazing movement. That is a compromise from the fact that the head is not actually attached to the head. The size is great and much better than the Sphero one and it is fun to have the sounds come from the robot and to actually have a remote that anyone can use, and an actual manuel. I also like how this uses bateries so I dont have to worry about there being a problem with the charger. I have had such a bad experience with chargers and remote control items, it seems the batteries weaken at every charge and you can play for less and less time. This is far more conventional and easy to use and optimize. Pretty much, you can get straight to play with this fun toy. No fuss no muss, with excellent deco, fun noises and a great movement effect. I was not dissapointed on any aspect. PS: an easy way to insure the head wont fall of when you move it is to have it rotate first (with the right button). Like that the head sets and is the little guy is ready to go off on his adventure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Toy Bought this toy as a Christmas present for my 4 1/2 year old. He loves it. I chose this particular one over the app driven one because then he would be able to use it whenever he wants. It is very easy to control and he has a blast with it. We do not have problems with the head staying on. It is a bit odd turning it off, you have to hold it upside down for a few seconds. All in all it was a great buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Upgrade the magnets and speed Second attempt at a review, since Walmart doesn't seem to get along with Safari on my iPad Mini. Anyhow, bought this for my seven-year-old son as a B-Day present. He loves it, but does get frustrated with BB-8's head constantly falling off. Inasmuch as we have three pets and fur does get attracted via static electricity to BB-8's surface (which doesn't really need to be a bas-relief map of the Rockies, but is), the magnets that keep the head on need to be stronger, along the lines of those on the Sphero version, which *I* own (that model is also a LOT faster). Saying that, for the age at which the Hasbro version is targeted, it's an excellent toy for the young Star Wars fan. It's also substantially bigger than the Sphero, so should you HAVE both, you can say the Hasbro is the "better" one. Should Hasbro decide to upgrade the head magnets and boost the speed at least somewhat, it would easily get a five-star rating from me and parents everywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great toy, my granddaughter loved him! BB8 is easy for a child to use. He moves & talks. Just hard on batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from #1 Christmas Present The BB 8 robots I gave my two grandsons for Christmas were the best presents I could have given them, They are 3 & 6 years old and they certainly knew what BB 8's were.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk The head falls off constantly, which is a major problem because the head determines the direction the droid while you're attempting to control it with the remote. So it's never really possible to control this hunk of junk when the head falls off all the time. This thing is great in theory, but horrible in reality. Bottom line is: This isn't the droid your looking for. Move along.
