Ratings & Reviews+

LEGO® Star Wars™ - Encounter on Jakku™ (75148) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rey: "Him?" I think this is a great set in general but is priced a little too high. I also Think Finn and a storm trooper would be a good add to the mix. but that is all i have to say. Plus reys speeder would go good with this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from '...One Quarter Portion' This set is in a very similar style to Battle on Takodana. It's a small set with great minifigures but it doesn't quite come together as well as it could have. The overall idea is fantastic. Star Wars locations are rare as Lego sets and a lot of story takes place on Jakku. The luggabeast is movie accurate with great articulation but the bright azure colour just doesn't work. Either Lego should have used a darker blue or used less of it. It would be easy to improve it using your own bricks but why it was designed like this I don't know. As for Unkar's stand it just feels so disjointed. The dilapidated, worn and old feeling come across well and the colour palette is true to Jakku, but it's just too small. To really do it justice the build needed to be bigger. The details are nice and include parts for a battle droid, a hidden blaster and rations. The minifigures are what really makes this set. Rey has detailed printing and comes with her staff. BB-8 is also included but if you want Unkar's thugs then you need to buy another set and a book. Unkar himself is a great, ugly minifigure with a unique headpiece. The Teedo also comes with a unique headpiece and it's staff but in reality it's legs should have been smaller. This is a nice little set but it's not the best representation of Jakku. However I think this set is worth it just for the minifigures and is a good addition to any Star Wars collection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs more for your money The set is pretty solid, what you see is what you get. No play features besides a hidden gun. You only get two new exclusive minifigures, which is disappointing, granted how many unique cool creatures are in the actual scene from the movie. I would have loved to see this set for $80, which would give us a larger outpost and more minifigures. You also have to get the other sets to make the scene complete in my opinion. The best lego sets are able to stand alone, but this one makes me feel that you also need the Millennium Falcon to ge finn and rey's speeder for the unkarr thug minifigure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alien fun :) LEGO gives us a lot of military vehicles in their Star Wars line, but not enough civilian themed sets, which sets this product apart. It's a bit pricy for the size, but I love Star Wars aliens, and so for me this set was a no brainer. The Luggabeast is the highlight, very fun design. Teedo is also a great figure. The trading post is somewhat lacking in my opinion, but Unkar Plutt figure is great, and it's nice to get another Rey and BB8.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from please hear this, lego the reason I got this set was for unkar teedo and the luggebeast. They were OK but the real disappointment was unkar's stand. it can barely hold one character. I don't want to keep purchasing big sets like this just for a few alien minifigures. I think lego should make star wars alien battle packs or something cheap that contains some alien background characters. I hope you please consider this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great build and incredible display piece I knew this was a day one purchase from when LEGO first released the set images. The luggabeast appeared perfectly represented and niima outpost so cleverly detailed for what is a medium-sized set. BUILD The build is split in between the two main components: the luggabeast first followed by niima outpost. Although the l-beast uses moulded legs, there is a surprising number of clever building techniques, using brackets and plates blended seemlessly with bricks. The result is a fantastic representation to the movie, and will leave most builders of any level with a few new tricks up their sleeve. These techniques are most transferable to themes such as space, vehicles and sculptures. Niima outpost is again littered with techniques throughout, and demonstrates how a location or building can be well-represented with relatively few bricks. The sail is a great touch, and really makes the outpost a perfect model for display. PLAY Both the l-beast and the outpost are full of playalibity. The l-beasts legs a movable and the outpost can be displayed in several ways with a few clever functions built into the design. OVERALL Encounter on jakku is a truly enjoyable set; the build had me smiling throughout, and it will be some time before I can bring myself to disassemble either the beast or the outpost. This set shows once again what can be achieved, both aesthetically and functionally, with thoughtful building and clever techniques. For me, this is where LEGO surpasses all other building systems. If you enjoy Star Wars, Lego, Star Wars Lego, and good times, then I highly recommend encounter on jakku.
