Great food mill for the price! No complaints!

Crush the potato really well, but should be used when vegetables are still hot to avoid lumps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing reminds me a lot of the one my grandmother used but the one from Starfrit is much easier to use and is much less tiring for the arms. What a joy to no longer have to peel, to only toss, to cook and toss. It is also very easy to clean.

Just like grandma had! I was taught to cook using many of the kitchen tools that Starfrit sells.  This food mill is almost identical to the one i learned to can vegetables with.  A delight to use to make soups with a well to get rid of the "strings" from vegetables as well.

Perfect for soups, vegetables,  and caning.

Excellent

Worked well to mill raw tomatoes. Removed all of the skin effectively and any large seeds.

Well made and easy to use moll

It's ok if you are making small amount of sauce. I was doing 2 bushels and it took forever. Also there is some dark liquid that came out in the middle where the handle is. I washed this machine really well and let it dry overnight. Not sure what it was but threw that sauce out. I would do small amounts of sauce and check if anything weird is leaking into your sauce so you don't ruin it. I had to go get more tomatoes to make up for what I threw out. For the price you get what you pay for. It's cheap and it works just not too well.

Not great

While it sorta works, you have to use a lot of pressure to squish the food through WHILE turning because it doesn't actually sit close to the disc. Then, because the metal parts are rubbing, it leaks black gunk from the metal grinding together. Had to constantly disassemble and clean while using, which was quite an inconvenience. Ended up with a sore elbow for 2 days.

Sorta works, but inconvenient and not well

First use it didn't fir together properly, took it apart to clean it and as soon as I put it back together the arm bent, trying to get to the warenty section on the website is also impossible. Do recommend!!!!
