We bought this IN- STORE YOU MAY BE ABLE TO FIND IN AUTOMOTIVE! It does the job. Kept our girls entertained on our 8hr road trip. No skips or problems. It might be annoying to some that the dvd will start over evertime the car powers down because there is no back-up power source, but this is a great value and I can't see why you would want to pay more...

I ordered this not knowing what to expect being the ratings were so diverse. Product works great and we have no problems with it. The straps were a little difficult but we got it set up in no time. No sure why everyone says you can't chaange the dvd while still in the straps. I had no problem doing it. You just have to slide the straps over a litte. I would reccomend this product to any and everyone.

Great Product.

I had read all the reviews with the complaints of the straps, but thought for the price, I would try this model out anyway. I was pleasantly shocked - I had NO problem at all installing them (just look at the user guide for an illustration), and I had NO problem switching out DVD's. We don't have to take anything apart, just open and change DVD's. Kids are ecstatic, so are the parents!!! GREAT product for the price!

extremely pleased!!!

We bought this product for our 4 1/2 year old and nearly 2 year old boys. This was intended for many trips to the zoo, hiking areas, vactions, etc., to make the car ride more bearable for them (and us!)... We have a portable DVD player, but it is a single and is hand held, so this product was ideal. It allows both of our children to have a screen to watch (so they aren't fighting), it doesn't have to be held (and they can't touch buttons), and it is very affordable and is a great value!!! It was totally worth $100! It works great!! It doesn't have a battery, so it must stay plugged in to work, but our vehicles have an auxillary power outlet so the movie stays on even if the car is off (which makes stopping for gas easier)!! It also comes with a home power cord and the very first day I got it, both my boys pulled up chairs and each watched their own individual movie screens - they thought it was awesome (so did I) - and that feature will be great for vacations!! It also comes with a carrying case that is small, but fits everything, including cords! We love the remote too! The straps were easy to use and put into the vehicle, but do have to be moved/adjusted to change the video (I don't care, wasn't that big of a hassle) - I do recommend putting the home unit on the driver's side so the passenger can change the movie, etc. if necessary. Great product, great value!! Would totally buy it again!

AWESOME!!!

We have had these for about a year now, and have used them for COUNTLESS hours. (probably well over 1000) There are only 3 complaints that I have with the unit.
1. First off, right out of the box the straps can be very difficult to work with and get the angle set up just right. Be creative and patient and you will eventually get it right.
2. The next issue is that if power is interrupted for even 1/10th of a second, the system will reboot and you will have to start over.
3. Lastly, after playing movies on the unit for as long as we have, finally, a few weeks ago the unit will no longer read discs.

We purchased this unit for $110 originally, and now, having used it for so long, I would gladly pay $150 for it! And here is why...
1. First off, i don't know where you can find any better bang for your buck when it comes to entertainment on the road.
2. Secondly the remote is a very useful feature.
3. Third, if you wanted to, you could connect a video game system to the second screen. This is not possible with the main screen because it has no video input.
4. You also have an option of using the SD card slot, and USB slot to play music, view pictures and watch movies! Here is the catch. Videos must be in .mp4 format and be encoded as just a plain .mp4. If you know how to do a search on the internet...just do a little research and read up.

Even though the unit will no longer read discs, I have an 8 GB thumb drive hooked up to it with around 27 full length kids movies on it. If they would play continually (while playing from a thumb drive movies step to the next file automatically) for about 2-3 days NONSTOP!!!
Bottom line...get it, the protection plan is not necessary (i see it as a disposable system) and use it for any car rides longer than 30 minutes. 8-9 hour trips with 2 toddlers is a piece of cake now. The only trouble we have now is choosing what movie to watch.

Great value

not the greatest dvd player, but we got this set for $80 on black friday and it does the job (keeping the kids happy). it comes with a bag, an infrared remote (no delusions of mom controlling from the front seat), basic cables, two power sources (ac and dc), two very cheap sets of ear buds, and straps to hang the players from the front seat headrests.
the process of putting a dvd is not good, the door does not open all the way and you'll need little fingers (and still may scratch your dvds). the image quality is very good however, and the speakers are loud enough. very good value at $80, don't know if i'd pay full price tho...

does the job

Product works well! Didnt come with a plug so it cannot be used outside of the car and there isnt an internal battery so when you turn the car off the product goes off as well. However, if you're looking for something to entertain the kids on a long drive this is worth it and the kids will agree too!!

Pretty good

I've been looking for a dual screen dvd player for my car for a while. I was a little nervous when I first ordered the product because of some of the reviews. However, since it was much cheaper than most dual screen dvd players, I figured it couldn't hurt. Boy was I surprised by it when I received it in the mail. The dvd player was great. It came with everything I needed; home charger, car charger, 2 sets of ear phones, remote, connector to connect the screens and a bag to carry it all. Plus the pictures on the screens were so clear. I would highly recommend this product it was definitely worth the gamble and the price.

Great Item

I bought this portable DVD player for my daughter when we drove 1200 miles to Florida. When I went to hook it up, I found that the straps are very strange- they go around the front of the DVD player and have to criss cross around the headrest. Well, that task requires 2 people and the velcro straps only overlapped about 1/2" (and that was pulling hard). When you are driving and want to change the DVD- YOU CAN'T. The straps are covering the front of the DVD player where the top pops out to change the DVD. So, you have to completely take the system down, take the monitor out of the strap, change the DVD and then try to find someone to help you reattach it. All the ones I have seen in the past have a strap that attaches to the back of the monitor and then goes horizontally around the headrest. Why are these so difficult? If I had realized how cumbersome it would be, I would have returned them and got other ones that only have one strap. The color quality is good on the monitor, but with the headphones in and the volume the whole way up, it is hard to hear. Horrible design on the straps. Extremely non-functional.

Impossible Roadtrip

We purchased this dual dvd player for a long road trip with a 4 and 2 year old to help pass the time. It had a good price on it when we were looking. It lasted for two movies. Changing the dvd in the player with the straps on that attach it to the seat is almost impossible. Not impressed by this unit and would not recommend.
