New Technology for Outstanding Images.

Canon's CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) sensor captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range, and offers the most pixels in its class. It offers many of the same new technologies to maximize each pixel's light gathering efficiency that were first seen with the professional EOS-1D Mark III model. It's an APS-C size sensor (22.2 x 14.8mm), and there's an effective 1.6x increase in the lens's marked focal length when attached.

12.2 Megapixel APS-C Size CMOS Sensor

DIGIC 4 Image Processor

The improved DIGIC 4 Image Processor ensures that images are captured, processed and saved with remarkable speed. The EOS Rebel T3 DSLR's new 3:2 multiple aspect ratio, in-camera RAW image processing, creative filters, image resizing and provided S2 and S3 image-recording quality are all possible thanks to the DIGIC 4 Image Processor. With dazzling results, the new DIGIC 4 Image Processor also works to capture and process data of images shot at 12.2 Megapixels at 3.0 fps, as well as 14-bit signal processing for excellent image gradation, enhanced Face Detection Live mode, Full HD video recording, Auto Lighting Optimizer and Lens Peripheral Optimization.

Excellence from Dawn to Dusk.

With a broad range of ISO settings, the EOS Rebel T3 enables shooting from sunrise to sunset and helps ensure capture of the finest detail. With enhanced high-sensitivity optimization, subjects can be captured clearly and easily at high shutter speeds without flash, with minimized blur and noise. In bright scenes, especially long exposures in daylight, optimal exposure can be achieved with a fully open wide-diameter lens, no dark filter needed.

High Definition Made Easy.

The EOS Rebel T3 DSLR's expanded repertoire of technologies includes shooting video in brilliantly clear, exactingly sharp high definition for playback on your HDTV! Shooting at 1280 x 720 at 30 (29.97) or 25 frames per second, HD video can be taken immediately through the EOS Rebel T3 camera's intuitive operation and layout. Parameters for white balance and picture style are already set — just grab and go!

Incredible AutoFocus.

The EOS Rebel T3 has a high-precision, 9-point AF system utilizing a high-precision, f/5.6 cross-type center point. The 9-point AF system uses both normal and high-precision focus depending on the aperture and available light. The 9 focus points can be chosen automatically or manually selected.

9-point AF

Accurate Metering for Perfect Exposure.

The EOS Rebel T3 features Canon's newest Dual-layer sensor, with 63 zones. By measuring not only the amount of light, but also taking into account color and luminosity, this new system delivers a very high level of accuracy for better results every time. Since the metering sensor has a color measurement function, exposure errors and focus errors caused by different light sources are minimized; the EOS Rebel T3 gives stable exposure from shot to shot in situations where light changes, such as sports on a cloudy day, or indoor holiday scenes.

Speedy, Precise Operation.

The EOS Rebel T3 operates with such effortless speed that operation is nothing short of intuitive. With instant startup times, speedy autofocus and minimal shutter lag, the EOS Rebel T3 is one of the fastest cameras available today. It can shoot up to 3.0 fps (frames per second), in bursts of up to approximately 3 JPEGs or 2 RAW files, so you won't miss a shot.

3.0 fps Continuous Shooting

See the Image on a Large LCD with Live View Function.

The EOS Rebel T3 has a huge, bright 2.7-inch TFT (thin film transistor) LCD monitor with 230,000 pixels and a viewing angle of 170°. It's perfect for Live View composition or viewing camera settings like AF, ISO, Metering, AF Point selection and flash options. And the maximum brightness of the EOS Rebel T3 DSLR's LCD monitor is about 30% greater than its predecessor, which is a big benefit when you're using the camera in bright sunlight.

Live View Function

Live View Function enables you to view your subjects directly on the huge 2.7-inch LCD monitor. It's easy to magnify any part of the scene 5x or 10x for precise manual focus. And now, there are two ways to use Autofocus along with Live View Function in the EOS Rebel T3. You can even choose a grid overlay, perfect for keeping straight lines in your subject straight in your pictures. In the studio, Live View Function can be used remotely via a computer through the EOS Rebel T3 DSLR's USB connection.

Make Your Images As You See Them.

Basic+ is a new creative imaging feature that makes it easy to create the image effects you want. It can be set with the Quick Control screen in Basic Zone modes. Basic+ provides two options:

Shoot by ambience selection:

Based on the Picture Style and its parameters (sharpness, contrast, saturation, and color tone), the exposure compensation and white balance correction are adjusted to attain the selected ambience. You can also select the strength of the ambience effect.

Shoot by lighting or scene type:

Although the actual parameter set is the white balance, the settings are expressed in more understandable terms.

The EOS Rebel T3 DSLR's Quick Control screen gives you instant access to the most common settings, all in one place! It's a great way to quickly confirm or change settings while you're shooting. The Quick Control screen is particularly useful when you're shooting from a tripod or monopod, with the camera at eye level, because it eliminates the need to view the LCD data panel on top of the camera while changing settings.

For beginners looking to expand their photographic horizons, the EOS Rebel T3 offers Creative Auto mode. While basic settings are based on full automatic operation, shooting guides on the LCD screen enable you to make corrections based on simple to follow guidelines. In essence, with Creative Auto mode, you can learn about photography while taking stunning photographs.

Photography Made Truly Easy.

The Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR demystifies great photography by including an in-camera Feature Guide. Appearing on the camera's LCD, the Feature Guide displays a simple description or advice for the respective function. It is displayed in each shooting mode, during Mode Dial operations, and for Quick Control screen functions (during normal shooting, Live View shooting, movie shooting, and playback). The Feature Guide appears automatically during Mode Dial operations and when a function is selected on the Quick Control screen.

Speedy, Wireless Image Capture and Transmission.

The EOS Rebel T3 uses popular SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards. Compact, inexpensive and available in increasingly large capacities, SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards are a perfect complement to the EOS Rebel T3 DSLR's compact and lightweight body design.

Additionally, the EOS Rebel T3 is compatible with Eye-Fi* SD cards, which are outfitted with a Wi-Fi transmitter (IEEE 802.11b/g) and internal antenna for wireless, high-speed transfer of images. With an Eye-Fi card installed, the EOS Rebel T3 can display the Eye-Fi's connection status and error notes with ease, for fully functional wireless uploading of images directly from the camera.

*Canon cameras are not guaranteed to support Eye-Fi card functions, including wireless transfer. In case of an issue with the Eye-Fi card, please consult with the card manufacturer. The use of Eye-Fi cards may not be available outside the United States and Canada; please contact the card manufacturer for territory availability.

Shooting Made Easy.

The EOS Rebel T3 is compatible with all Canon lenses in the EF and EF-S lineup, ranging from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto lenses. Canon lenses employ advanced optical expertise and micron-precision engineering to deliver unprecedented performance in all facets of the photographic process. Special optical technologies, such as Aspherical, ultra-low dispersion, or fluorite elements are featured in the universally acclaimed L Series lenses, and Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology are featured in select lenses to minimize the effect of camera shake. Ratings & Reviews+

T3 IS 18-55 Bundle is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 227.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect beginners DSLR I picked the T3 up, bundled with an 18-55 IS and a 75-300 several years ago to replace my aging EOS 350D. It's the camera that assisted me in becoming a professional photographer! It has all the manual settings you could ask for as a beginner, and takes crisp shots, especially for the price range. Nowadays I work with several 1Ds, 7Ds, and massive EF lenses while I shoot motorsports events, but the plucky little T3 still hangs with the big boys, especially if the user is good at post-processing. I always have it as a back up camera in case the weather gets nasty or the other, bigger cameras act up. Any entry level Rebel will be perfect for the beginner/intermediate photographer, and can be commercially successful if you put the work in. I highly recommend them if you're enthusiastic about photography and DSLRs but don't know where to start. Everything about the Rebels are easy to learn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All about the lenses I got myself the Rebel XSI the day after Christmas, I should have waited for the new model in April (April, the new canon models come out) but my last camera broke beyond repair & I needed a replacement right away ~ I didn't have the time to save up for the Canon model I had before but that is alright because this one has fit in nicely ~ I am a jack of all trades (freelance) photographer, most of what I shoot is my own artwork & so far this camera has even held up to my strict standards ~ I only wish it allowed for short video clips & that it had a digital display uptop for settings, remaining photos, etc. ~ Really you do not need to spend more money on the other EOS models unless you want/need more MPs or have the money to spend ~ When you have a good brand (Canon) camera it is all about the lenses & that is where you should spend the big bucks ~ A reviewer before me made a comment about it not taking good macro/ close~up shoots ~ Once again it is all about the lenses ~ Try a good canon macro & or telephoto lens & it should work great I know mine does ~ You can’t blame a good camera if you use a cheap lens ;-) ~ If you are having trouble be sure to read the very informative guides that comes with Canon cameras ~

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still delighted after 5 months I've been using the Rebel XSi for over 5 months now and I'm still delighted with my purchase. The zoom lens that came with the package that I bought is a nice addition. The best feedback came from a friend of my wife who knows very little about cameras. After taking some pictures for us at a family event, she asked where I bought it because she wanted the same one. It was incredibly easy for her to use and the pictures that she took were just as good as the professional photographer at the event. She fell in love with it too. The battery seems to last forever and with an 8GB memory card, I can keep clicking away. I have learned to love the 'continuous drive' mode where you can continue to take pictures as long as you hold down the shutter button. Now, when I take a snapshot, I actually take 3 or 4 in sequence. It's amazing how a split second timing can change a photo. Closed eyes, blur, and background subjects change that quickly. My last camera lasted me 8 years. I expect that this one will be at least as faithful as that one with all the features jammed into this little beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from total excitement. The first weekend I've owned this camera, has been nothing but pure photography excitement. What I see through the view finder has been exactly what the picture was. No touch up or shading to be done to try to get it close to what my eyes saw. Quality pictures that brings the actual beauty of this time of the year. On the second day of ownership, I was able to photograph something in the wild, that I had never seen before. We were on our way home from Church and saw an American Bald Eagle on a kill out in a field. We also saw him in flight. You can bet the picts were being shot! It was like a good omen on the purchase of this camera. Thanks Canon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 12 Mega Pixels wonder This camera is just unbelievable. From numerous settings reserved for much more expensive pro level cameras, to superp picture quality. You can get T3 with 2 IS lenses (18-55 IS and 55-250 IS) for price of T2I. I just can not see why would anyone take very little performance gain over 2 lens setup. I migrated from Canon Digital Rebel XT, and the T3 is just a different ball park. While Rebel XT looks and feels more solid, T3 picture quality just blows it away. I was very sceptical if it is possible to buy a good camera at such low price. That lasted about five minutes. From very easy auto settings to very adjustible creative functions. This camera does it all. When You read some of the reviews, it is questionable at least (cheap build, low resolution screen etc), but when You can use this camera for few minutes You can ask why would You pay almost double for T3I? Unless You have unlimited budget (but then why not to buy D60), the rotating screen, or higher resolution ( rearly used to fullest), or full HD Movie (still only for about 15 minutes) just does feels wrong. My biggerst complaint ould be the grip, i would like it to be more solid and beefy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent camera - you won't regret it I chose this camera when I decided to upgrade from my Canon Powershot SX10 is. I have NOT regretted my decision. There was no learning curve at all when moving to this DSLR from my point-and-shoot. You can shoot in manual mode and control all of the settings yourself. The camera also has many other modes and scene selections that take great pictures if you want to let the camera control certain aspects. The T3 is easy to use. I recommend that you read the manual that comes on the enclosed CD - it goes into detail about the product and will have you getting away from the "auto" mode within the first few minutes of use. I am a photographer as a hobby and there is still a lot I need to learn about photography. However, just by stepping up to this camera, my pictures have improved greatly b/c of the better sensor and image quality that Canon is famous for. This is the 3rd Canon camera that I have owned (the first 2 were powershot point-and-shoots, this is the first DSLR). I highly recommend this camera - you will not be disappointed. There are tons of lenses, flashes, filters, and accessories available to take your photography to the next level. I understand that this camera is considered an entry-level product. I have no other DSLR experience, so I can't speak to the prosumer and professional models and how they compare to this camera. All I can attest to is that this camera exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds and I know that I will be using it for a long time to come!!!
