The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (Wii U) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Breath of the Wild may be the best Zelda game ever. With a huge open world, new gameplay elements, and the freedom to go to any dungeon or location at any time, this is one of the best video games ever made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Perfect, But Good This game is much different than any of the previous entries in the franchise as it is officially an open world game. It plays and feels like a Zelda game, but the adventure is open and free for you to do any way you want. For instance, the main objectives in this game are to free the spirits of the four champions killed by Calamity Ganon, and then defeat Calamity Ganon. If you want you can simply go ahead and charge towards Hyrule Castle and fight Calamity Ganon. You aren't required to save the four champions. Everything else in this game is running around and exploring the gigantic overworld. My issue with this game is that there aren't really dungeons like in previous Zelda titles. The four champions are in what can best be described as mini dungeons, and they aren't that difficult. Anyone who wants to explore many dungeons, get cool items, and fight awesome bosses will be disappointed. Another gripe of mine is that every weapon in the game, including the Master Sword, can break. Once a weapon breaks, it vanishes and you have to pick something else up. While the Master Sword doesn't truly break in this fashion, it loses its charge and you have to wait 10 minutes to use it again. It's annoying more than realistic or anything I can say is a good decision. So you have a giant, open world to explore. There are shrines, secrets, beautiful vistas, and people to meet. A problem I found is that, in my opinion, the side quests you get from exploring the overworld and meeting villagers are not interesting. The Elder Scrolls series was rooted in its excellent side quests that made the game feel like a real world. Breath of the Wild's side quests seem to be more to expand the game, and give you something to do when you aren't tackling the main quest, defeating Calamity Ganon. It's not a bad game at all, and it received 43 perfect reviews by professional game reviewers such as IGN and GameInformer. I'm in the minority, but I don't believe this is a perfect title or the best Zelda game to be released. However, it's still fun and definitely worth picking up, especially if you get it for the Switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An instant Classic Everything you'd want in a modern open world game, while retaining all the charm of the originals! One of the very best in the series.
