This commemorative box set includes Claude Guilmain's new film, "The Van Doos: 100 Years with the Royal 22e Régiment", produced by Anne-Marie Rocher, Jacques Turgeon and Maryse Chapdelaine, as well as two other documentaries about the Canadian Armed Forces directed by Guilmain: "The Van Doos in Afghanistan" and "Front Lines," which was inspired by letters written by soldiers who fought during World War I. "The Van Doos: 100 Years with the Royal 22e Régiment" traces the history of the Regiment from its creation at the beginning of World War I to its exploits during World War II and the Korean War and its deployment in Afghanistan. This 100th-anniversary box set reflects the NFB's commitment to highlighting the great historic moments that forged our country. "The Van Doos: 100 Years with the Royal 22e Régiment" is one of the major works produced by the NFB to commemorate both world wars. The set also features several bonus items: Claude Cloutier's animated short "The Trenches" and an assortment of extras. "The Royal 22e Régiment: A Glorious Centennial" was produced by the National Film Board of Canada in collaboration with the Corporation du Royal 22e Régiment.
