Description & Features+

While the term “robot” has only been around since the 1920s, humans have been thinking about how to make life easier by using robots since 320 BC. In our society we use robots to do jobs that are repetitive or dangerous. For example, robots are used in automobile factories to place screws into a car part over and over again. In outer space, robots are used to explore the planet Mars where it is too dangerous for humans. Let your child take their first steps into learning about robotics by building their own roving robot. From folding the paper body of the robot to encasing the mechanics of the robot inside the body, each step will help to teach important construction skills. Challenge your child by asking what tasks they would have a robot do to make their lives more convenient. What are the benefits versus disadvantages of having a robot perform these tasks instead of a human?

Ratings & Reviews+

Think Box Build Your Own Roving Robot by Horizon Group USA is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money! I bought this as a gift for my son. We managed to put it together using the French instructions, as the English instructions were not included in our box. Once we put the batteries in, it hardly moved and completely stopped after about 10 seconds. We took off all the cardboard to try and troubleshoot the problem, and it moved slightly with less weight, but once it was put back together, it stopped working. Completely disappointed in this product.
