The ink is perfect for line drawings and they're more comfortable to hold for long periods of drawing than the micron pens.

I absolutely love these pens! When using to doodle and fill in with Tombow ABT Dual Brush Pens, these are superior to Sakura Micron's in that the Tombow Monoline's do not smudge. If they do, I have yet to experience that. 

The only thing I do not like is the barrel size. I tend to work better with smaller barrels, and the circumference on the Monoline is large compared to the Micron. 

Overall, I love them. At least enough to buy 10 backups! ??

These are by far my favorite drawing pens for when I'm making any art piece, comic strips, character profiles, commissions—you name it. I use this pen set, several of my Tombow Dual Brush sets, and even some other Tombow items like the Mono Zero round eraser for better precision. These pens are amazing with all Tombow items, don't bleed, don't smear, dry quickly, and leave a great finished look even when they're saturated with other heavy colors. I'll always buy these pens for my work.

Would recommend to any artist or journalist. Very crisp, lightweight, and just all around perfect pens. The .01 is by far my favorite and I have been using constantly since unboxing. All in all, if you're already looking at these pens, they're so worth the money.

I adore these drawing pens for writing in my planner and journal. Beautiful deep black, smooth flow, dries fast, and can put highlighter or Tombow Dual Tip color right over the top with no smearing or smudging. Also love the 3 different size tips, perfect variety in this set.  These will now be part of my must have supplies.

My New Favorites!

I recommend the MONO Drawing Pens.

There is a click when you re-cap them. I accidentally didn't close the cap all the way on the 05, and I found it had dried out! However, since they are water based, I wet the tip with a little bit of water and scribbled onto a surface until it wrote again. Now it works just as good as before, and I've had no issues with it since (elapsed time: ~3-4 months).

The ink is very bold and consistent and whether I'm writing, scribbling, or coloring, there are no streaks or need for additional pressure.

The nib for the 01 is very prone to bending, perhaps because it is so small. I'm not a heavy handed writer, but I found this non to be more fragile than the other two. Proceed with caution.

Other than the frail nib, these pens are great.

Frail Nib, but Good Ink!

While I like the 03 and 05 pens. The 01 came out of the package dry.  Otherwise the pens are fine for drawing.

Normally I use the Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens. A friend told me about these and i got them. The 03 and the 05 write great. The tip of the 01 broke off the first time using it, hence why only 3 stars. I've been using the pens like this for years, and never had an issue. I know I didn't apply any more pressure than normal.

I wanted to like these.

I loved the Mono i got a month ago, so I picked up a 3-pack.  I noticed that my same complaint as with the Micron pens...the square tip.  The .5 tip, especially, is difficult to write with unless you hold it close to vertical instead of at an angle.  It's so annoying.  The square tip is what I was hoping to avoid.  I prefer the black Flair.

Well, I've had the set since June 28th and the tip to the 01 is almost gone.

I used it (and the 03) every day until yesterday: drawing lines and writing but I guess I still pressed too hard.

I'm not sure I'll get another pen in 01 or go back to another brand.

The 03 and 05 pens are holding up very well though so no issues there.
