TURBO ROASTER is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from OVER EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS THE TURBO ROASTER IS ONE OF MAY ITEMS THAT IS ADVERTISED AND YOU SAY YEA SURE. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED IT DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAID IT WOULD. I BAKED A CHICKEN WITH THE TURBO ROASTER INSERTED AS DIRECTED AND SURE ENOUGH IT ONLY TOOK 45 MINUTES AND IT WAS COMPLETELY COOKED, IT WAS BROWNED ON THE OUTSIDE AND WAS VERY JUICY. I TOOK A FORK AND TWISTED IN THE BREAST WICH IS USUALLY THE DRYEST, BUT YOU COULD SEE THE JUICES. IT TASTED DELICIOUS AND WAS VERY TENDER. I LOOK FOWARD TO USING IT ON THE NEXT TURKEY I COOK. LESS THAN HALF THE TIME MEANS A LOT. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT, I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Roaster Product works as promised. I have 3 things I would like to see changed, 1) lid for jar is too flimsy, 2) jar needs to be larger, and 3) seasoning ball should be included with product even it means a reasonable price increase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 years in a row - excellent delish I've used this with a 15 lb. turkey - took 1 hour, 25 lb - took 2.5 hours. Moist and lots of flavor. - I remove the tin foil the last hour. Last year it ran out of water two hours in on the 25 lb turkey and I broke the mason jar when I tried to add water to it. I purchased two more turbo roasters this year so I can just replace the whole thing and keep on cooking the turkey. The 10.00 is well worth the time it saves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Moist/juicy chicken, but logistically challenging This product allows you to cook a turkey or chicken at 450 degrees without burning it or drying it out. We cooked a chicken following one of the simple recipes included in the booklet that comes with the Turbo Roaster. The advertised cook time for a chicken is 45 minutes, but ours took closer to 60 minutes to get to the recommended temperature of 180. The hardest part was figuring out what to put the bird on so that the Turbo Roaster pipe fit inside it appropriately (the end of the pipe sits about 4 inches higher than the bottom of the jar) and transferring everything into the oven. We put the chicken on a rack on a cookie sheet and set that in the oven prior to inserting the Turbo Roaster pipe and closing the opening in the bird with a skewer (keeping the oven open that long probably contributed to the longer cooking time). One issue we had was that cooking with the oven that hot released a lot of smoke from one of the burners on our stove where something had previously spilled - just a possible issue to be aware of if you don't often turn your oven that high. All the chicken meat was very moist and tasty, perfect for someone who likes poultry but doesn't like when it gets dried out!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from a mason jar with a pipe not worth the asking price I tried cooking a 5 lb. 7 oz. chicken with this turbo roaster and all I can say is disappointed. When I first got this turbo roaster I was thrilled to read that it cooks poultry in half the normal time and that it leaves the meat juicy. There is nothing I dislike more than waiting 2 hours for my chicken to cook and finding out that it is dry. I was surprised to see that all the turbo roaster was was a mason jar and stainless steel pipe, easy peasy right. No first thing I noticed that I did not like was the instructions say to fill the jar 1/4 full for a chicken and 3/4 full for a turkey. There are no indicators or guide marks on the side of the mason jar so I premeasured the jar. The jar holds 1 cup of water, so I added 1/4 cup for my chicken. Even if the jar wasn’t going to have guide marks why doesn’t the instruction just say add 1/4 cup water for chickens or 3/4 cup water for turkeys, this seems better than eye balling in my opinion. Secondly there is a rubber gasket that needs to go on the jar to ensure a seal. No biggy if you could have just placed the gasket on the jar rim and screwed on the lid but the rim was to thin and would fall off every time I tried to put on the lid. so I tried like the instructions depicted to place the gasket inside the lid and placing it on the jar, this is hard to because the lid is two pieces (the ring and the lid/pipe) you can’t just tip the jar because it has water in it and the lid is awkward to handle while trying to screw it onto the jar because of the pipe. So after I struggled for a bit I managed to get the lid on. Third thing I didn’t like was when I placed the bird in the. The bend in the pipe doesn’t come down far enough to insert into a chicken even though I put my chicken on a rack to give it some lift, the jar was still tipped at an angle in the oven. After 45 mins. like the instructions suggested at 350 degrees I tested my bird with a poultry meat thermometer, I tested the breasts and it read at about 172 degrees and it smelled delicious. But then I encountered another disappointment. When I sliced into the breast the meat was juicy and tender and cooked but as I sliced in the thigh there was blood everywhere. It was still raw. So I carved the meat that I could from the bird cut it and placed it in the microwave for it to finish cooking 1100 watts for 5 min on high. This cooked the meat and it all tested 170 degrees on the meat thermometer. and it must have been juicy too cause the bowl was dry with just meat when I placed it in the microwave and when I took it out there was about 1 cup of juicy in the bowl. It seems to me that the turbo roaster cooked just the breast as that is where the end of the pipe was under and the turbo roaster uses steam to cook. Over all I would not use this product again or recommend this product. There is too much hassle with the lid and thoroughness of the cooking is inconsistent. If I had to recommend how to cook a delicious bird I would recommend using the Hamilton beach rotisserie oven which I own and purchased from Walmart.com, just ram a rod through your bird attach to prongs to hold it in place and drop it into the rotisserie and cooks in about an hour a 5 lb. chicken.
