I've used only those thermometers since my kids were little. They hated having their arm held down to take their temperature. And this thermometer it was so fast that I didn't have to hold her arm for long. I am a nurse I've  used a lot of  thermometers, buy this one

Ordered this to use for children at the daycare and works well for under the arm temperatures. Easy to use and shows you temperature by colour to know if you have a fever!

I don't know why this thermometer is so highly rated. I have to keep restarting the thermometer 3-4 times to get the highest temperature reading because it stops reading after 8 seconds even if the temperature is much higher. 8 seconds is not enough to get an accurate reading. Ditching this for an ear thermometer.

poor readings

I bought this and took it out of the box to use it the same day….and it was flashing the battery dead symbol. If I'm paying for a brand new product I expect it to work for a certain amount of time before I'm having to pay more money just to get it to work in the first place. Not impressed!
