I did my research on this Vizio soundbar.  My favorite thing to do is watch movies in surround sound and thought this perfect for me. I read all the reviews  before purchasing this item as well.  I did sight to store, so I picked this up at my Walmart. This works great, I love the surround sound, and I do not mind that the rear speakers plug in from across the room, (not completely wireless),  This is better than having wires run across  my living room floor. I have dogs and that would not work for me. This is a great set up.

I bought this with some hesitation but after a few minutes it was hooked up and on.  I am a bass lover and the sub-woofer  delivers.  I am so glad I took the plunge into some fantastic sound.

What Sound!!

It's bigger than I expected and the sound bar system sounds like I'm in an IMAX theatre every time I turn my tv on.

Amazing

This sound bar system replaced a bunch of older equipment for me, and really cleaned up the space. The connections were straight forward, plenty of wire included in the cables for the satellite speakers, and the sound bar pairs with the subwoofer beautifully and reliably. Still getting used to the controls, but am very pleased to see in the instructions that the tones, volumes, and balances will be completely adjustable. A great deal, and Walmart made it much sweeter with free in-store pick up delivery.

Great system!

When I bought this I was sceptical about it, setup is so easy, getting sound setup took me a little while to get right, because I like so many different programs, but once it's set up and you are watching a movie, turn that sucker up ppl sounds awesome, that small sub suprised me.

My mom purchased VIZIO 38" 5.1ch Sound Bar System (SB3851-C0)  for my dad for Christmas.  They both were having problems hearing the TV as it was not very loud.  I could barely hear it myself.  They have a new TV it just must not have loud sound.  Amazingly my dad was able to hook this up himself (normally my brother or husband has to help him :)  So the setup is easy.  They put a small speaker on each side of the couch, subwoofer under a side table and of course the sound bar in front of TV. 
The sound will now blow you out of the room!!  They barely have to turn the sound up!  They love it!  Would buy again and recommend to anyone looking for a nice sound system at a decent price.

Love it!

Bought this unit a month ago and so far it has performed well. I had no trouble hooking it to my Vizio TV using the optical cable. Did have to set the TV sound output to PCM, as mentioned in the instructions on page 8.  I pickup off-the- air TV stations and the sound was distorted on some of them until I used the PCM setting. The 5.1 sound system is awsome. I liked the fact that all the necessary cables and batteries were supplied with the unit. The instructions are clear and if you follow them the hook-up and operation should be easy.

Sounds Great

The SB3851-C0 is my first surround sound system and it's exactly what I needed. It's simple to install and adjust the settings to my liking. I particularly use it for music and it really fills my bedroom with rich sounds. Definitely recommend it for small rooms

What can I say, it's what I was looking for

oscillating soound level with some broadcast (comcast cable input)  even when a satisfactory setting is obtained there is no guarantee that the oscillation will return on channel change  When sound level is ok the surround sound is verry good.  No problem with Netflex, etc.input just with the cable thru tv

a few problems with sound stability

I am about to exchange to get my 3rd sound bar. The setup worked great. Real easy to setup. But I have had two sound bars fail now. They completely stopped responding like they were shorted (no sign of life, no lights, etc).

Worked great until it failed
