Weathermaxx 195/60R15 88 T Arctic Winter Tire is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Tires For the price, you can't beat these tires for winter driving. I have them on my 2003 VW Jetta wagon and they work better than the expensive Hankooks I have on my other car. I wouldn't hesitate buying them for any car. They handle great on the highway as well. I've had them for a couple of months now in Alberta terrible driving conditions and they have been great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good tire! These replaced worn out winters on a 2008 Elantra. I was wary of putting on such an inexpensive tire. I read the online reviews (There are no comparos that include the Wintermaax.) and I had fairly high end winter tires ( Bridgestone Blizzak) on the car. After about six weeks of fairly heavy snows and an ice storm here in Ottawa, I feel I can comment. The traction is very good with these tires. Much better than the almost new all season tires I had on the car for one snow fall. I've never been stuck, even in 10-15cm of snow on an unplowed street Slipping has been minimal. It's especially noticeable at city intersections, where ice often forms from the traffic. I've noticed many other people spin their tires or slip a little sideways around a corner, while the Wintermaax quietly do their job. I do drive conservatively in winter. For me, it's about leaving lots of space to other cars and conserving momentum to save on gas. I would say that on dry highways, the noise is about average. That is, like most winter tires they are more noisy than all season tires, but not excessively so. It's possible that much higher priced winter tires have better traction, but really, the difference in traction is not going to save you from a fender bender (or worse) if you ignore the road conditions. And no winter tire is as good as a studded tire. So ask yourself this: Are you going to drive faster around a corner because a certain winter tire has 15% less stopping distance under controlled conditions with a professional driver? Or are you going to pocket the substantial difference in price and drive with an awareness of winter conditions? I recommend these to all except for wanna -be rally drivers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great I've had these on my car for two years now. The set I had on my previous car worked great, so I bought them again, but somehow these don't work as well. On ice they're so-so, and in snow they're so-so too. When driving down unplowed streets, be sure to keep your throttle down. Way better to have these than "all season" radials, but geez, I wish I bought something better. But that would mean spending more money, sigh.
