Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Better Than Expected I don't grill very often so having a hulking propane thing around has no appeal. I was skeptical about having the coals ready in 20 minutes and was pleasantly surprised that a few sheets of newspaper and one match turned into a heap of hot coals in about 15 minutes. I use wood coals instead of charcoal, not sure if that makes any difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You'd be a fool not to have one of these. A chimney starter gets rid of the need for lighter fluid, avoiding that nasty taste. Just put it on the grill as the picture shows, stuff newspaper underneath, fill the top part with coals, and light it up. Reduces wait time as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It seems I've been doing it wrong for years For decades I've been using lighter fluid to get the coals going, little did I know I was going about it all wrong. A chimney starter is the way to go. I just rip a handful of pages out of an old magazine, crumple them up and place them in the bottom then add the coals on top and light the paper and wait for about 20 minutes. All of the coals are lit and burning evenly, just remember to get a coal rake to push your coals around after you dump them into your grill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent!! This product is great. With only two sheets of newspaper the charcoals are ready in 5 minutes!! I wish I had known about this product a long time ago. Now I need to figure out what to do with the two bottles of starter fluid I have left and will never use.
