I thought for sure that this would be a "you get what you pay for" situation, that something this inexpensive certainly can't be great, but so far it far exceeds our expectations. It did not go together quite as smoothly as some would suggest but anyone with a moderate level of mechanic abilty should not have any problems-- the console holes could have lined up a little better and the self-tapping screws that attach the latch tot he left upright needed some cajoling to start, but once it went together it feels solid and looks like it will work well for us.

We have a $1000 treadmill in the basement that doesn't see much use anymore because there s no heat or cooling down there and it is too big for the living room, but this feels every bit as sturdy as that one.

Inexpensive but not cheap

While I have not used treadmills before, this treadmill meets my expectations. I understand that it does not have the extensive options that more expensive treadmills have, but it has plenty for my needs toward the goal of weight loss (currently at 180 lbs. after two c-sections and need to drop about 40). We have had it for almost two weeks and I have used it every day. Despite other reviews, it only took my husband about 45 minutes to assemble. It was delivered eight days prior to the promised date when ordered with free shipping. The only aspect that has caused slight disappointment is that if you use a preset workout and adjust the speed, it only adjusts that one-minute segment and then returns to the original preset speed for each additional segment (see pg. 13 in user's manual). However, the six preset workouts are pretty different and offer several different speed options. I previously had shin splints from using an elliptical; I have not had any problem with my shins on this treadmill. I have also had two fairly severe spinal injuries: one cervical and one lumbar - the treadmill does not affect these either. For this price, this treadmill cannot be beat. Hopefully it will last a long time, because I love to use it for walking and jogging! The treadmill is in the room next to our girls, now 2 & 4, and it does not wake them when I use it in the mornings. We are very pleased with this treadmill.

Excellent Basic Treadmill

I've had the treadmill for only two weeks, so I can't speak to its durability, but it works very well and wasn't very hard to assemble. My biggest problem was its weight in getting it in the house and out of the box. If you have trouble lining up the base, put some packing material under the front - it'll then be a snap.

An excellent, sturdy product for a fantastc price

We had a treadmill that was over ten years old, was time for a new one.
It took us about 20 min to get it put together, was not a lot to do. I was not able to walk on our old treadmill but this one is a breeze to walk on for me( I have had a total knee replacement) and my husband says its like going from a clunker to a Cadillac. I am 71 and he is 73 and we really are so pleased with how good this treadmill is. I use it every day and he uses it every day or two. If you want a good product for a good price then this is it.

For the price its great

I was concerned if I could fold it up and wheel it in the closet. It is a bit heavy for me as I am a small person but I can do it pretty easily and I was glad it fit in the closet. All the treadmills I looked at were bigger than this one so if you want a really great smaller treadmill this is a good one. We have used it almost every day since we got it.

Purchased on line with Site to Store option. Shipped to store in a few days. Pick up was fast and easy considering it was around Christmas time.

We feel this treadmill is a good value as it was priced lower than the lesser 5.2 offered on Amazon.

Assembly was easy. My wife, who is quite handy, completed the assembly by herself in fairly short order. All parts were present and fit as they should.

Operation of the treadmill is simple. Keep in mind this is a fairly basic unit. No frills. If you want fancy, this ain't it. It was purchased to allow some walking exercise during the winter months when its just to uncomfortable to walk outside. For this, it is perfect. We are satisfied and would recommend the 5.9.

We like it

Despite the fact that it was tough for me too put it together seeing as though I have never really put together anything with tools, I love it.  It's really nice and sturdy. My only complaint would be that I haven't figured out why the heart rate monitor doesnt work.  Folds up nice & easy to moverify around

Nice Treadmill

For one the shipping of my treadmill was horrible. The box came all ripped up right through the middle and one of the screws was through the box and broken instead of securely screwed into the bottom of the machine. The belt has a permanent indentation i guess from the parts that were on top of it or something I'm not sure. Then after putting it together i notice it didn't come with the bracket and thing to put on the rails to fold up the treadmill when not in use. I have yet to contact Weslo about that yet but I'm sure it wont be fun. Overall the treadmill seems decent. This is my first one. Putting the treadmill together isn't that hard if you have help. The only hard part is putting the bottom part on.

Missing/Damaged parts. Decent treadmill

Buyer beware! Looks like most of the treadmills are being shipped with a fault motor assembly. The console display comes up, but the motor/belt doesn't start. This aligns with many of the recent reviews here. The customer service rep I spoke to agreed that this was a known issue. They will ship some parts to you (which has no ETA) and you are expected to open the motor assembly and replace them yourself. I think they have a service department, but there is no time guarantee when they'll come out to fix.

Also, an experience on the customer service - they are very hard to reach during week days. Their manual says they are open till 8 PM ET, but I was never able to catch them even at 6! Had to take half a day off just to talk to them.

Another note on the construction - the bolts on this thing are very difficult to align. I have assembled many things, but to fit in 4 bolts it took me about 30mins! Could just be my experience though. And, the footpads on the side of the belt are very thin plastic - mine was already broken out of box.

I am totally not comfortable repairing a "NEW" item even before I get to use it. So this is going back to Walmart.

Beware!

I ordered this online and arranged for in store pick up. I couldn't wait to get it, but was so disappointed when it arrived for pick up. The box looked as though it was dragged behind the delivery truck rather than loaded onto the truck. I refused to take it home and was issued a refund. I was told that I could order another one online. I did so, but the next time I was notified of my treadmill being ready for pick up, the box was again in horrible shape and I believe that it was the same one. Again I was issued a refund and the customer service rep at the store could not believe that the box would be delivered that way any more than I could.
I will not order another one, because clearly I will just be sent the same beat up box. I realize that the box is different from the product, but with electronics, a box that beat up means that the electronics inside probably took quite a beating. Even though I purchased the protection plan, I wouldn't want to have to keep having repairs. Very, very disappointed!
