I purchased this product to mainly back up pictures and videos from (7) IOS devices. The initial startup was easy, but setting each and every device took a little time. You have to download and app for each device, but overall not a bad process.

Purchased this for my home network to store pictures and documents .The setup was easy and it works as advertised .

Easy to setup

I did not want to use cloud storage from a third party because they can restrict what you try to upload and after a certain limit you pay monthly. it installed easily but it took me a day or two in order to figure out how to use it, however, it was very intuitive and each day got easier and easier. After 72 hrs I am a pro. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made for my home based business. These things should be flying off the shelf.

A NO-BRAINER FOR A SMALL HOME BUSINESS

Very happy. We have 3 networked computers, plus tablets, cell phones, etc. All can plug this into the items that are on this drive. Even our TV!

GOOD NOT EASY TO SET UP

mine was hacked routers are easily hacked so i disconnected it took the hard drive out discover it was not the quality i was hoping for i did how ever put it in my computer and the drive is working ok all be it slow being a sata 1

security risk , contains a wd red sata 1 hdd

"BEWARE. This product does not work as advertized. Performance is unusualy slow and the device is generally unreliable. Not a device you want to trust your precious DATA on. Until Western Digital resolves these issues or recalls the product I would recommend looking at an alternate solution.

BUYER BEWARE

This is my 2nd attempt to get WD 2TB My Cloud from Walmart. The 1st HDD Walmart lost the order. The 2nd arrived at my house but it has errors when installing the software. At first it was my Bitdefender blocking the computer connection to the HDD and then I turned off BD but it was still not connecting. My firewall settings was correct. During installation by mistake I put in the wrong email address. So I found the reset button and followed the website instructions to reset the HDD and it failed to reset. Then I did a factory restore installing on the HDD and it failed to do that too. So it looks like there was something already wrong with the HDD.

Doesn't work

It worked for only 3 days, then the red light appeared. I could not get access to any of the data that was saved, but luckily everything was backed up on another SSD.
I have read on the net about others having the same issue.
