Its a beautiful bench and can easily seat two people, very sturdy. However my one complaint, which many other reviewers have stated, is it came damaged! Luckily mine was damaged on the back were you can't see it. Perhaps better packaging would prevent the damage caused during shipping.

Great bench for the price. Good quality wood. 2 problems: one of the pieces was slightly damaged (crack in the wood) and hinges were too stiff (felt like it was going to damage the wood when closing the bench so we left them off)

I bought this bench on the premise that it was solid wood, that's what Wal-Mart advertised it as. When I received the bench it was damaged. It had a large chip on the back along with scuff marks. Worst of all it was not solid wood as advertised. It was Pressboard covered with veneer. It looks good but it's a cheap imitation and will not last, pressboard falls apart with constant use and is only good as a backing for certain building applications. I sent it back and I am waiting for my refund. My opinion it's not worth almost $300.

Don't Buy

Large chip in the paint on the front of the bench. Storage door only opens 1/2 way, which makes it difficult to put anything into it.
I am very disappointed with this bench and if it hadn't been so time consuming to assemble I would return it.

Low quality

Description says this is solid wood, but only some of it is solid wood. The seat and legs are solid wood, but some other parts are made of strong particle wood.

Not solid wood

Beautiful storage bench with great space inside. The color is as stated and looks nice and rich in its apperance. The quality of craftsmanship of the wood is very good too, considering the price, this minus the hinges that it came with. they were too stiff and resistant to open/close the bench!! I immediatley saw that this could cause for damage to the wood, so I took them back off and it works much more smoothly without them. My bench sits in my bedroom as a great accent peace while also housing "30" pairs of my summer pants perfectly with easy access.
