This item is great for hearing. It replaces my hearing aid, although it's not as loud. It has a volume control,as well as bass and treble controls as well. I'm tone deaf, which means I can hear bass better than treble, so I can now turn the bass up all the way with the Pockettalker. You cab use headphones, earbuds, etc. You also have a microphone with a cord, so you can put it close to the tv or stereo to hear music and tv. It works great for watching movies.

I purchased this for my brother. He has had a 50 % hearing loss in one ear since he was very young. Now 69, he was told there isnt a hearing aid that will help him. The doctor suggested he try this item to help him hear while waiting for authorizations to do an implant.My brother LOVES this device. He can even talk to me on the phone . This item gets a rating of 11 on a scale of 1 through 10. This is a great product

I TRYING TO RETURN THIS POCKETALKER

Works good!! No more yelling or nodding without understanding what is being said. Batteries last a long time.   Two AAA.   Binaural earbuds would be helpful or Bluetooth capabilities would be best.   The volume and tone level adjustments are susceptible to change when putting the unit in your pocket.  Walking into a large store with paging, entrance airflow and just general ambient noise can be disconcerting so adjusting the tone level from treble to more base helps or just take your earbud out.   Now I can hear the signal indicator in my car!!! Way cheaper (about 1/10th the cost) and easier to use than hearing aids.

Hearing Amplifier vs hearing aids

This hearing aid is an amplifier and noise reduction device for our mother who has hearing problems. Stanford researchers, who visited home for a study she participated in, brought one and she liked it so we bought one. The first one unfortunately has a high pitch irritating noise so after a month, we asked for a replacement and returned it. Thanks to Liberty Health Supply replacement and a Walmart warranty, the next one was way better than the first. Mother uses it to watch on her iPad and also to hear and talk to staff at Davita Union Dialysis Center. Of course she now can participate more in our family conversations!

Great for Conversation and Watching iPad

It works as described. I have mild hearing loss but nowadays the movies on TV seem to increase the volume to extreme levels. My wife used to have to scream at me over the TV but now I no longer notice the blood vessels in her neck so this was worth it just for that.

Was hoping the item would have worked out!!! It did work well for a minute or so and then the crackling noise started. I believe either the female amp connection or the headphone male plug were NOT made with precision because the fit is loose. To bad it didn't workout!!! Just wish they could find a manufacturing company that could produced the item with greater precision.
