Very happy with this round. I've shot several loads out of my 1874 sharps repro and this is one of the best ones I've found from a factory. This is definitely going into the mimic slot for my load data. I used the 45-70 300 grain hollows and the accuracy pointed out everything I was doing wrong, the rifle and ammunition had zero issues putting shots where they needed to go. Definite 5 out of 5

Does what I expect it to do. Deer do not go very far if at all. To those who have had FTF. Will bet you a case of ammo that it is your gun and not the ammo. I have worked on more than a few that has this problem. The bolt sleeve is not relieved enough for clearance of the firing pin. If the ammo head where the extractor slips over is a thousandth or two thicker it will not allow the bolt to pop up and let the firing pin go by and strike the primer with enough force to fire. Try this - hold your bolt down while firing and see if the round that does work in your gun will go off. IN A SAFE DIRECTION OF COURSE. Hope this helps.

Extremely good ammo!

Took my Model 70 Featherweight 257 Roberts, out hunting last year. The ammo I was using was 30 years old.  One shot one deer.  Round went off as if it was new and bullet performed as designed.  Bullet was resting just under the skin on the other side.

Worked great!

Love this gun. BUT, you can't find ammo for it so you have to reload it yourself. I got lucky and bought a reloading die early.

I Taken Many Deer With This Cartridge. Ranges From 35 to 165 Big Steps. 
Biggest Complaint I Have. Winchester Rarely If Ever Produce This Ammunition Anymore.

Super X .308 150gr
When I bought my rifle I wanted 180gr, but could only find the 150gr. I have not been disappointed, have shot 4 deer and 3 dropped where they were standing, the other ran about 25 yards.

Great round for deer

I've been using this on upland deer in NH and ME for a few years now.  The recoil is a heck of a lot easier on the old 742 carbine than the 165 power points I use in my BAR.  But the accuracy and shocking power of this round is impressive.  On three big deer in a row, I've had one-shot kills and the damage done internally is as good if not better than the 150s or 165s.  Very flat shooting.  Excellent accuracy, certainly adequate for big woods hunting.  Highly recommended.  I might not use it on moose, but it's my go-to for deer.  My father and uncles are probably rolling over in their graves right now...  But hey, it's still a Super X.  The best all around cartridge.

Try It for Deer

The 25wssm is my favorite rifle and I do have a lot. But it seems winchester has screwed the consumer by no longer making ammo for this rifle or any of their line of wssm's. If I had an idea of when I'd be able to get ammo I wouldn't be so mad. I've been waiting for a run for 1.5 years now and im guessing it will be a while longer. Does anyone know when it will be made. Had i know i would have horded ammo like everyone else.

my brother and i both have browning x bolts, have been shooting mine for years and his is brand new. he was having issues closing his bolt and gave me a call saying whats up with this.  he brought his rifle and box of super x over to my house. i thought no way a brand new browning bolt wont close. i had a box of super x left from last year and tried one of my rounds in his rifle. closes no problem. started to compare rounds and his box the projectile hadn't been fully seated. the projectile sat up .075". many in his box were the same. DO NOT BUY till they figure their stuff out. no QC at all. so my brother took his brand new rifle and box of shells back to the dealer, he had the same issue with 3 other boxes on their shelf all with different production dates. I'm sure the shop knows how to read that. the Federals gave no problems

300wsm are garbage

Great round but I wish they were available. Best rifle ive ever owned but cant buy ammo.
