[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a review of Ellia's Wind Down Formula Sleep Support Blend Therapeutic Essential Oil By Homedics. I selected this Therapeutic-grade Essential Oil By Homedics because I have long suffered from insomnia and anything that can increase the chances of a descent nights sleep is worth trying. I find the "Wind Down" Lavender blend to be very calming along with notes of vetiver and sage. I simply add five to ten drops into my diffuser at bedtime. This not only adds the calming fragrances but also adds moisture to the air that prevents drying out the sinuses. 

This product comes sealed in a dark violet bottle to protect the oil's quality and also includes a child proof cap for safety. The bottle contains 15-milliliter of 100% pure Therapeutic essential oil. This is blended to relax the mind and inspire restful sleep. 

While this blend was helpful in relaxing, it is not a cure for chronic insomnia. I really did not expect it to be. I consider it one tool in an overall plan to improve my sleep as much as I can. Each step is helpful and this is definitely a step in the right direction. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice relaxing fragrance.

Very Relaxing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lavender is known to be a natural relaxant and this essential oil definitely has a note of that. There are other natural oils listed in the ingredient list. The first two ingredients are two types of lavender, lavandin, and lavender. Then there's vetiver, which I'm not familiar with. Clary sage, Balsam of Peru, marjoram, ylang ylang, and cardamom are also listed. I've used cardamom powder in pumpkin pies before, it's a sweet spice that's similar to nutmeg or allspice. When I asked my husband to smell the oil and tell me what he thought it was, he thought it was lavender with licorice root with some floral accents. My son thought it was frankincense and myrrh? To me, I smell lavender with some other notes that are pleasant to the senses. I have a wax burner that I use to make the house smell nice. Just two drops of essential oil directly in the burner is enough to flow through the living room. It's therapeutic for sure, but I can't decide if I like the plain lavender more or this. This mix is probably more therapeutic for relaxing with the other spices than the lavender by itself.

Lavender mixed with other oils for relaxing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an inexperienced user of essential oils, the first thing I found out when this product arrived was that I needed a diffuser in order to get the most benefits from it. After researching and finally purchasing a diffuser, I was ready to see if this oil blend would help my family wind down at bedtime so we could go to sleep easier. The fragrance was pleasant and I believe it did deliver a calming scent. I found that we didn't want to leave the diffuser on, so we began running it about 10 - 15 minutes before bedtime to get the oil scent in the air. Then, we could turn it off when we were ready for bed.
Since you are only using drops, the small bottle of oil will last for quite a while.
Now that I have the diffuser, I plan to try different oils for different purposes.

A calming scent

It's stronger than the previous oil that I was using which was a lavender oil but it was a blend so it wasn't 100% lavender oil like this product. It was kind of stronger than I expected. I put 7 drops in but next time I'll put four and see if that helps. My son said it was so strong it started to give him a headache. Overall I like the product. I definitely think it relaxes me and helped me fall asleep quicker. I also like the look of the bottle and how it's made on the inside. Seems like the oil comes out easier. I wish they would add a dropper like top instead of the normal top on these oils.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Ellia Essential Oil - Wind Down - free for my honest opinion and review. This oil is for assisting in a better sleep experience. This oil contains Lavender, Vetiver, and clary sage, marjoram, cardemom, ylang ylang, all of which have been known to help with sleeping and relaxation. I am a rather homeopathic nut and I'm into essential oils, this oil is fairly pungent (strong), and I place several drops on my pillow at night to see if it will promote sleep. I can only say that I have not only been sleeping well, I have had "movie-like" dreams. I normally don't remember my dreams but, when this essential oil is on my pillow, I do dream, a lot! 

Therapeutic grade essential oils are relaxing and I am going to try to use this in my room diffuser to see if it produces the same effect on my sleeping. 

I would recommend this oil to someone who is interested in relaxation and promoting good sleep. No guarantees on this type of reaction when you use it but, it works for me.

Good relaxing ingredients

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was happy to find Ellia - Wind Down which is a mix of different essential oil scent because all of my essential oils are just single, unmixed scents. Everyone likes to feel more relaxed so any sent that can help me do this is great. It comes in a nice little box which is perfect for gift giving and the bottle is 15ml which is pretty big for more essential oils. It is easy to open and to me it has a smell that is very hard to place. It doesn't seem to smell like anything I've ever smelled before as you can smell multiple notes all happening at once but blending in a nice harmony. If I really had to try to say what it smells like I would have to say, that it smells like a mixture of pine tree and black licorice. I know that doesn't sound all that wonderful but the scent is decent. I don't love it and I don't hate it. . I'm going to be using this oil in a way many people do, which is to mix into home made body lotion bar and butters as well as making my own deodorant.

Decent Calming Scent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's hard for me to review this product. Mainly, because I have never used essential oils before. Also, had a hard time deciding if I liked the fragrance or not. I was expecting more than a bottle of oil based on the packaging. It took a bit of research to find out how to use this oil. I was told that I could use it in a diffuser, in a candle warmer, in a vaporizer, and I could mix it with other pure oils and wear it. This fragrance reminds me of something you would use for a cold or congestion, it does clear the sinuses. I put a few drops on some crumbled incense and that was more than enough to fill my small bedroom. I don't know if I would recommend this for everyday use, but if you need something crisp that will clear your sinuses this is it.

This was a hard to review item for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ellia By Homedics Arm-eo15wd 15-milliliter Therapeutic-grade Essential Oil (wind Down) is a good deal when it comes to quantity, the bottle is relatively large (see photo) and the box represents almost the actual size of the bottle, but I was hoping for a different mix of essences than always lavender. I personally do not like lavender and this oil smells like little else, at least to me. Maybe it could be mixed with something else to tone down the lavender. Other than that it is pretty much the same as any other oily essence.

Too much Lavender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ellia Wind Down Sleep Support Blend Essential Oil comes in a very nice bottle inside a little brown box. I have seldom used essential oils, so I am not an expert, but I can tell you that peppermint oil is wonderful for easing the itch of mosquito bites. Ellia Wind Down is not peppermint oil. The list of ingredients is printed in such small type that I had to get a magnifying glass to read it. Wind Down contains oils of lavandin, lavender, vetiver, clary sage, Balsam of Peru, marjoram, ylang ylang, and cardamom. Seems to me a very odd combination. I've never heard of some of these ingredients before, and sage, marjoram and cardamom belong in the kitchen cabinet, in my opinion. 

The lid of the bottle was difficult to open, so take care, as the label says "not for topical use." Push down and turn, and the lid eventually comes off. Once I got it open, I took a sniff. The oil initially smelled strongly of licorice, even though there is no licorice in the bottle. I can't stand licorice. Once I read the ingredients and sniffed again, I picked up hints of lavender, cardamom and marjoram, but I've never smelled ylang ylang, for instance, so I can't speak to its odor. It might produce a more pleasant essence inside a diffuser, but I don't own one. I'll try it if I ever do. It smells a little bit different every time I take a whiff, so I won't give up on it yet. Perhaps, like wine, it has to breathe.
