Can be straightforward, but may require extra effort for some users.

Lack clear step-by-step guidance, causing assembly difficulties.

Excellent purchase. Simply 6 nylon locking bolts to put together 1 x per each wheel and 1x for each side of the handle. Add the oil which is included and gas and you are up and running. Took 3 pulls to start. Lots of power when cutting. Suggest you only need a ratchet and crescent wrench for quick assembly of bolts.

Great deal

I was looking for a replacement mower, and tried this cause it was the cheapest one. I love it! Starts on the first pull, cuts great. Awesome ergonomic handle that makes it very easy to push. Kids can even use this. And it even came with a bottle of oil.

Awesome lawn mower!

I have used it only once so my review isnt worth much with respect to how long it lasts. Its pretty light amd simple which I like. There is no lever to raise and lower wheels but just 3 bolt hole choices so you arent changing height on the fly. Thats good in a way. My last mower rusted out because of all the plastic parts to accomodate height adjustmebt which this doesnt have.  The wheels each have 2 sealed ball bearings which is pretty impressive. I think it will last a long time. Did a nice job cutting my lawn and it is a bit narrower so maybe it takes one more lap around the house. No big deal. Seems to be great value so far.

It works like a charm but the one downfall is you cannot adjust the height that you're cutting unless you move the wheels to a different hole. Cuts like butter not too loud I would recommend.

Grass looks great

Bought this unit around 2018....it just died a week ago.I refilled fuel after running out...primed it once, it coughed and sputtered for 5 or 10 seconds and no longer starts.  I checked fuel filter (looked fine) after draining tank.  Added new fuel - still same story.  Maybe blown carbon gasket. This unit built by MTD....that tells u the quality.  Worked at mtd under contract over 30 years ago for 4 months and was fired because I complained of thick cig smoke in lunchroom! Talk about discrimination.   This unit upon arrival had 2 wrong sized lock nuts. Also I could not adjust mower height to shortest setting (ie. the highest hole position) because edge of handle touched wheel hubs.  This for rear wheels only...I guess no engineering dept. at mtd.  ...bought it for under $100 then - still frustration level not worth money....if $150 or less now, may consider it and use old one for parts....be aware u might get a lemon or a diamond.

Make it easier

I purchased this mower and used it once on our acreage. During that single mow, all four wheels bent inward under the weight of the unit, causing them to grind against the frame. The mower became nearly impossible to push, even on flat ground.

This wasn't user error, the frame and wheel assembly just couldn't handle normal mowing conditions. For something designed to cut grass, it failed immediately and completely. I expected a basic level of durability, and this didn't come close.

If you're planning to use this mower for anything more than trimming the softest suburban lawn, you may want to consider a more durable option.

Wheels Bent After One Use

Instructions are extremely poor, small writing and no diagrams.  No tools offered to help put unit together.  Wheels fit loosely and overall seems poor quality.

Poor instructions. Not worth the headache

Looks good and well made however can not do the job properly.

Can not do the job more like a showpiece item.
