Easter Celebration Ideas

From the clothing and decor to fun kids’ games, we’ll show you how. It’s easier than you think to host a hopping good spring celebration.

Celebrating Easter 101

Celebrate spring’s arrival with an Easter celebration to remember. From children’s clothing to crafts, from recipes to table settings, this guide will help with making the most out of Easter with ideas and tips

Easter Fashion for Girls

For little girls, getting a new twirly spring dress with shoes to match may just be the best thing about Easter. But wait, there's chocolate, too…

Assemble baskets ahead of time to give as gifts to the special children in your life. Learn how to make these cute chicks.

Easter Fashion for Boys

Little guys will look their Sunday best in a crisp shirt and tie, just like Dad's – or maybe a three-piece suit! And because it's all machine-washable, there's no need to put a limit on kids' egg-hunting and candy-eating fun.

Setting the Easter Table

We aren't into hand-wash-only dinnerware. So we set the table with everyday white dessert plates layered overtop cheery blue dinner plates. Dress your table with fresh flowers. Plain glass hurricanes filled with plastic eggs serve as a centrepiece. (Fill the eggs with little chocolates, and suddenly your what-to-serve-with-coffee conundrum is solved!) Set the table before guests arrive, while the stuffed turkey is in the oven, and you'll look like the world's most put-together hostess. Prep dessert ahead of time, and you won't have to disappear into the kitchen after dinner.

Games and Activities for Kids

Keep kids busy with games, and you'll be less likely to witness an attack of fidgeting or a meltdown. Enduring games like an egg-and-spoon race or musical chairs are simple to organize and don't require special supplies. Art-minded kids can decorate balloons or plastic treat eggs with craft foam and markers

Occupy the Kids

The bunny is almost as big as baby sister, but that won't stop her from carrying it around all afternoon! Put older kids in charge of keeping little ones busy. It's fun for them, and gives the adults a chance to talk and visit.

Planning an Easter Egg Hunt

A house party is the perfect place for an Easter egg hunt. Put some treats in plain view so your youngest guests can find them without getting frustrated. Foil-wrapped candies and chocolates stashed inside plastic treat eggs can be tucked into shoe cubbies, under beds and on top of counters.

Dress-up Fun

Playing dress-up adds another fun element to Easter celebration. Plan an Easter costume party followed by an egg hunt. Before you know it, you’ll have your yard full of rabbits hopping around looking for eggs!

Capturing Your Easter Memories

This little egg-hunter will only be able to look back at how much fun your party was if you take lots of pictures!  And don't keep them hidden away on your computer's hard drive: Make old-fashioned prints and share them with your guests.
