Great for Autumn, the pears' sweetness perfectly balances the peppery rocket and earthy flavour of the toasted pecans. You can also use baby spinach leaves, mizuna or mesclun.

2 tbsp Becel® Salt-Free margarine
2 lrg Pears ripe Bosc or Anjou, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
6 cups Lettuce torn red leaf
0.3 cup Fat-free balsamic vinaigrette dressing
2 tbsp Toasted pecans chopped
1 oz Parmesan cheese shaved


  1. Melt Becel® Salt-Free margarine in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and cook pears, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender, about 8 minutes; keep warm.
  2. Toss lettuce with dressing just before serving. Arrange lettuce on serving plates. Top with warm pears, then sprinkle with pecans and cheese.
