Wife looking for a smaller/lighter flashlight for walking. Found this on Black Friday sale. Super compact with strong beam.
Beam is not adjustable - has bright center with much larger lower illumination spread - you can NOT turn it into a pencil type beam, but for walking this is perfect. Comes with good metal clip - wife wears elastic waist pants without belt and clips on
without sagging.

Perfect walking flashlight

The energizer TAC 300 is one of the best lights to carry as your first layer (in a pocket). This light has a clip for quick access. This is a great light for a kid, a lady, or big daddy. It's excellent for a backup light in the house, car, or office. Mine is used mostly for patient rounds and arriving home at night. I can see clearly for 30 (low beam) to 50 (high beam) yards. The beam is nearly as good as my Surefire lights. The Energizer TAC 300 requires one CR123A and is best for in-and-out situations. I like the simplicity and savings of needing only one lithium battery. I bought 8 of these and will give them as gifts to others who never get around to buying a good light. The 300 lumens is a blinding beam and never test it by looking directly into this light. The battery lasts a lot longer at 50 lumens of intermittent use, of course. I will write another review in 6 months after I put it to work more.

Great Price and a Quality Light!

Very compact, but powerful. Size is probably due to small battery. I have yet to run battery down. Perfect for a "pocket" flashlight, or for emergency lighting.

Small, but Powerful!

I love flashlights. I love that you can see better at night. This flashlight shines a bright light for help in the dark. I love my flashlight. It reminds me of an old flashlight that I used to have. Helpful in illuminating stuff in the dark. Or low light. Love this thingy

Light up the Darkness !!!!

This mini flashlight is packed with amazing power. It's stronger than any flashlight in my home and I have many, because my home has usually been the hurricane safety home for many. It has 3 different selections, along with a clip to hang onto your pants. It's perfect to keep in my purse or glove box. At this price, I am actually ordering more for my home and stocking stuffers.

Don't let the size fool you!

This is one of the best flashlights that I have ever used. Bright light, small size, and wellmade. Highly recommend!

Awesome Flashlight!

Great flashlight that shines very bright. the only problem is it gets very hot so you can only use for a few minutes at a time.

Great little flashlight

To start, I would like to say that I really do enjoy this flashlight, and I'm glad I purchased it. It is wonderful in many ways and has its pros. It has three different modes (very bright, less bright, strobe), it's compact in size and easy to carry, and it has a clip so that you can attach it to something (pocket, purse/bag, etc) if you need your hands free or when you don't need it.

HOWEVER - the biggest con and personal problem I've found with this otherwise lovely little flashlight is the battery. One, the battery is an odd one (CR123 3V) and can sometimes be hard to acquire. AA and AAA batteries are everywhere. But the strangle little battery this light takes isn't always so easy to find. Two, this flashlight seems to eat through batteries like a '98 Dodge Durango guzzled gas. I bought this flashlight at the very end of August, the 28th, I believe, and didn't start using it until late September. Today is November 1st, and I've gone through three batteries already (which aren't cheap, by the way).

Granted, it might be due to the purpose of use and duration of time I'm using it for, as I use it when I take my dog out when it's dark. We can be out there for 5 minutes or 15 minutes. Since it's dark in the mornings now, I use the flashlight twice a day instead of only one. So do the math. I suppose it is quite a bit of use. But I keep it on the lower brightness mode for that reason. And as I've already stated, those batteries aren't exactly cheap. Especially when you have to buy them pretty regularly and you want good ones that are supposed to last.

If not for this battery business - if the flashlight had been rechargeable, made to take "standard" sizes of batteries, or it wasnt eating through batteries so fast, then my rating would have been five stars instead of three.

Unfortunately, here we are. As much as I like this flashlight, I'll be retiring this one to my car where it will rarely get used and will be searching for another that will hopefully better suit my needs. Perhaps this review will be of help to other customers in deciding if it's right for them, as well as the manufacturers, to take into consideration the battery situation for future products.

Wonderful BUT the battery

The light is bright, but this flashlight heats up in a matter of minutes when left on. I put the batter in correctly - I've never had a flashlight get hot like this, and having second thoughts about keeping it.

entire flashlight heats up when left on=concerned!

Nearly useless. Worked for about 4 days, really bright and perfect for my job. After the 3rd night, the stem started getting hot if left on longer than a minute. By the 4th night, the battery was dying and it was useless.
A coworker bought the same one and had the same issues. Don't waste your money.
