I absolutely love the Presto 8 quart pressure cooker! It is not too big, nor too small. However, one can put lesser amounts of food or larger amounts of food in it. Just make sure to follow the instructions. I have cooked beef and pork in it so far, and they were both around 7 pounds each.  After 20 minutes of cooking and letting cool, the meats were cooked done, but also to a wonderful tenderness that can't be beat from a pressure cooker!

I have used Presto pressure cookers since I was a teenager and have always had one in my own household since adulthood and that has been let's just say a while. They are made of quality materials and are highly reliable when used as directed. I highly recommend the product. One last caveat:  i called the company and of all things in this day and time a real live person answered the phone !!  Thanks Presto.

Goes together in 5 minutes all you need is a screwdriver to install the handles.. nice looking as compared to a Phillipe Richard I had befor this one.. cleans easy.. nice easy to use pressure relief valve as compared to others.. Regret not buying this sooner.. Will buy more as gifts for friends... Great seal and safety seal indicator.. You cant miss with this one....

Good Pressure cooker

This Presto 8 qt cooker does exactly what you want it do, cooks fast and evenly. Well made with a good finish. You need to install the handles, but all you need is a Phillips screwdriver and its very easy. The aluminum makes it light weight and makes it cook evenly. Don't skimp on the size, you will do well with this 8 qt.

A great cooker

I have used this size pressure cooker for many years. For me it's the best size for family of 6. This is my fourth in 62 years of marriage. We love it.

COOKED A MEAL IN IT THIS EVENG. EYE OF ROUND RUBBED WITH OLIVE OIL AND RUDY'S BBQ RUB FROM NEW BRAUNFELOS, TX, FOUR POTAROES CUT IN QUARTERS, AND ONE ONION. TWO CANS OF ROLLING ROCK BEER. TENDER AND WONDERFUL IN 30 MIN.

GREAT PRESSURE COOKER

I purchased this pressure cooker for the size.  I had a need for a larger pot than the electric pressure cooker that I have.   I had a request from a Grandson who was coming in to celebrate his little daughter's 2nd birthday for chicken and dumplings and the dinner was potentially for 11 people.  I knew the smaller pot wasn't going to make it.  The chicken was cooked under pressure, then removed to a platter, then that quadruple batch of dumplings were added to the boiling broth, the lid was replaced and the temperature was lowered to the lowest setting on the burner and cooked gently for 20 minutes without pressure.  It worked beautifully.  The chicken was tender -  and so were the dumplings.  

I have a need for a larger pot occasionally, whether as a pressure cooker or just as a larger pot, so this will fill the need on both counts.  I understand that there is now an 8 qt electric pressure cooker, but no more than I will be using this size, I couldn't really reconcile the need with the cost.  I have had a 6 qt Presto pressure cooker before and had been satisfied with it, so I had no qualms about getting this larger size.  It worked beautifully on my smooth top stove and I look forward to using it.

8 Qt Presto Pressure Cooker

I bought this pressure cooker  for my mother and she loves it. Is big enough that she can cook as much as she wants and it has a dividing rack just in case you want to steam veggies or something else. It truly is a great product.

This cooker is defective.  Steam and liquid gushed out from the air vent while the cooker heated  .  Have to return it.
