[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great product! I use it for my dog and she loves it. It's light weight enough to move around easily and durable enough that my animals can't hurt it. It's nice and deep so I could use it for a feed bowl or a water bowl and it can hold a good amount of each.

I believe it should have a plastic ring around the top to make it more sturdy so I'm sure it would work so much better if it did! But overall it's still a really great product! Great material and a perfect size!

Multiple different uses

I ordered this for my picky eater mare who would paw at her shallow feed pan and tip it over on to the ground, spilling her grain and her SmartPak supplements! I wanted something bigger, with higher sides, so I added this to my SmartPak order. When it arrived, it was bigger than I anticipated, and I considered returning it. I went ahead and kept it though, because I liked the idea of being able to soak a foot in it if I ever needed to. I brought it out to the barn and fed her with it, and what do you know, it kept her from tipping her food on to the ground! The sides are high enough that when she paws, she doesn't get her foot in to the pan to tip it. And if she does hit it with her hoof, it is heavy duty enough not to tip over and spill the contents. She eats everything now, which makes me happy because I know she's consuming the supplements I'm paying for! I used metallic silver permanent marker to write her name in large letters across the outside. The metallic silver shows up really well on the black feed tub.

Quality

I feed my horse on the ground and this feed tub is perfect. Deep enough to prevent shavings from being kicked in and heavy enough that he can't pick it up and toss it around.

Deep and heavy

The older versions of this bucket have rings that pull through when a horse leans on them. This version has reinforced rings that, combined with strong stainless steel snaps, are much more difficult to tear down. So far my horse has not figured out how to pull these down. I think it's now the best feed tub on the market after this major upgrade.

New Design Is Fine

I got this feed tub a month ago or so to replace a broken plastic one for my horse. It is very good quality, I like the high sides so that he doesn't drop grain over the edges. I much prefer these black rubber tubs as they don't crack, and they don't break as easily as the plastic feeders.

Works great

Doubles as a play toy once the food is gone! The soft rubber is great for making his playtime a little quieter for his barnmates. I didn't mount it to the wall, but rather use it loose in his stall and he seems to think it is the best thing ever. He was a little inquisitive of the 'new rubber' smell, but once he had a couple meals in it, that was long gone. Seems to be impossible to break as well... it's sturdy!

Great feed tub!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this as a wash bucket for my truck. Held up good with the soap and came clean after a thorough rinse. Kinda on the heavier side for the purpose I use it for. Did have a strong rubber smell for a few days when I first received this product. I can see multiple uses with this item due to it having the hanging hooks.

Rubber tub

I have used this type of feed tub for 36 years.  I use snaps and eyelets with rings to suspend them.  Horses can still pull on them but not with the force they would with rigid attachment.  The hold up a long time, and are easy to clean.  These are very well made, and incorporate a sort of retainer to keep the eyelets from pulling through the slits in the tubs (the most common failure).  These arrived with a very strong new tire-like odor, and had to be placed aside a few days to air out.  After two weeks they are now in use, but still have a residual odor that will take more time to dissipate.

Well constructed, but odiferous

Both tubs I received (MIller Mfg) tore at the rim or eye attachment within two months of once daily use. The are very floppy, which makes me wonder if they're not reinforced. The metal eye hardware for hanging them up falls out the tub rim if nothing is attached to it. I'm returning these and will buying tubs made by Fortex. I have tubs of that brand that have been used outside over 10 years and are going strong.
