We love ice! I make 8 trays about 3 times a week for the two of us. We use it in drinks everyday. I have strong ice-opinions (though to each their own).

We've had two models of ice-trays, with slightly different shapes, that don't stack well, so I'm replacing with all Sterilite.

I looked around for ice trays in stores, and the varieties I found made cubes that were relatively small, which is NOT what I want. My husband brought home some Sterilite trays (of which we already had four) and they were exactly what we needed. Of course, I should have looked at what we had currently first, but it was good to realize their virtues by looking at some competition.

The reviews mentioning durability are not without merit, as two trays have cracked for me and I'm replacing them. But we do SERIOUS ice, overfilled trays each time because I want a high ice-yield. I think I use them as hard as most people would, and we've had them for about 8 years. They're recyclable, so I don't feel bad about replacing them as needed (this is my first replacement due to breakage).

I get the ice cubes AS I LIKE THEM, and the trays stack well. This is very adequate satisfaction for me, even if they're not indestructible.

In our home right now, we have two types of ice cube trays: This model, and also the blue Sterilite plastic trays. (Model 7430). This tray is VASTLY superior. The cubes do not stick. The material is durable. Very easy to get the cubes out of the tray. Big, full cubes, with no sharding. Going to buy more of these and throw away the broken, shoddy blue trays.

What a difference...

I've owned a few different brands of ice cube trays recently, and I like the Sterilite trays the best so far. Versus other trays, they:

--release their cubes very nicely and easily with a simple twist

--they don't cause cubes to stick to the plastic, causing grief

--they don't thusfar (after several months) develop any cracks in the plastic that cause leaks

So, I'm pretty happy with these and would recommend them

I bought 4 of these trays a few months ago and 3 of them cracked and leaked. Not a very good product. They should hold up to ice better then that.

Leaky Ice Cube Trays

I purchased four of these ice trays and to date all four have cracked on the end cups. I also have another well known brand that was purchased as a replacement of one of the sterilite trays and it has not cracked. So, I obviously have to replace all three others with the other brand. Its too bad, this is the first time I've ever had a problem with a sterilite product. And, these are the best quality of all of their ice trays.

Have stuff floating in my water. I think it's the plastic breaking down. I'm replacing them with stainless steel

Would not buy again

We bought 4 trays when our fridge icemaker died and after a few uses they cracked and would not hold water. Do not buy these!

They all cracked after a few uses

I have gone through 4-5 sets of the ice cube trays in 2 yrs. They crack and drain water all over the freezer. But the thing is, that is all you can buy at any stores and they are JUNK!
What does the consumer have to do in today's age to get a quality product that is dependable at a decent price! I am at wits end about buying anymore ice cube trays and just buy ice at the local store!

I have returned three and have three that I cannot return since I no longer have the receipts! DO NOT BOTHER BUYING this product! the only good thing about them is that they stack well!

This product cracks under the bottom of the trays

These don't hold up at all. Ice doesn't want to come out. After a few months I see they are cracked, water leaks right out.
