The Step has been a great addition to my therapy/exercise routine. Better for me than the large platform because of the spring it has lowering impact. i have a very old Total Gym, i was concerned it would not work properly but it worked great. i get the benefit of doing many plyo exercises with the Total Gym at height level 5-6 incline while protecting my spine.

I'm proud to say I purchased the XLS System. Came pretty much loaded. I've purchased several accessories since. BEST of which was the Stepper   Weather is Bad, I'm 73, don't need bad weather in my life. Enter the Total Gym Stepper ! Outstanding is not praise enough. Slowly I worked into this new attachment. Now this has become a vital part of my 5 day workout plan.

Cardio Workout

It's just about the perfect accessory. I have several dvds that have you doing plyometric and cardio hopping or jogging that is very difficult to do with the squat stand because of the impact on your knees and ankles. The step is large and sturdy and has just the right amount of give without being too bouncy. It arrived 2 days after I ordered it and took 5 minutes to assemble.

Exactly what I needed and wanted

As an aging and somewhat broken martial artist, this has made a big improvement in my ability to do various exercises such as single and double leg jumping squats and "jogging" on my TG Fit.  I have no cartilage in my left knee, and it has a replacement ACL.  I also have issues in both feet.  Also, I work out barefoot - as long as it's indoors.  I've been doing it that way for 42 years, so it's a bit late in the game to change.  
The shock absorbing quality of the Stepper has allowed me to increase my reps, thereby increasing the benefits of those exercises.

Made my workouts better

The STEP attachment allows me to add higher impact aerobic plyometric exercises to my regular routine that I would not otherwise be able to do. I am a 55yo woman with osteopenia, back, hip,  and knee injuries; but I love to exercise on the Total Gym. I feel that using this attachment has strengthened my core and legs significantly. I do have to be very careful because the STEP is not as high as the Pilates foot bar, so I have to watch each time my foot lands as I am still getting accustomed  to the exercises. It's amazing how much more strenuous, and fun the work out is using this attachment. I am hopeful that this exercise will result in bone strengthening so that I can avoid osteoporosis. I would highly recommend adding this attachment.

Add fun, and strenuous exercises with the STEP

I bought this so that I could do my Pilates. My husband likes it because it gives a little bit to where when he's working out he doesn't feel like he's going to lose his foot stepping. The funny part is my three-year-old now likes working out and using the step to jump up and down so it's been a great workout to get that energy out.  The family has thoroughly enjoyed having the step a great addition to the Total Gym.

Great idea

I bought this product after watching a video I came across when I was looking for replacement rollers for my 04 Total Gym. I am finally using the machine again. The platform is much more comfortable to use than the original one or the pilates bar. I am getting up every morning and spending about 10 minutes bouncing around before I get going and really enjoying my machine again for the first time in years.

Jump Starting My Mornings

My name is Robyn. I am new to the Total Gym. I found my left knee was hurting a bit after working out. I decided to look into a bigger squat stand. I debated between the XL squat stand and the stepper. I chose the stepper and have been very pleased with my decision. My knee is fine and my workouts are great!

Love My Stepper

I bought the stepper for jumps. I do wear sneakers when doing the jumps and the stepper definitely is easier on my joints then the other attachments. I do wish the stepper was the same height as the pilates toe bar, its a few inches shorter, which means doing certain jumping exercises i have to watch my landing. I also wish the stepper was padded to cushion the noise of your footfalls. The stepper is great but definitely needs improvement.

I bought the stepper to add to my total gym fit for xmas. When it arrived one of the square end caps was crushed during shipping, it doesn't effect the way it works and I really don't want to go through a hassle to order just a square cap. I'm 58 and about 100 lbs and needed it for the cardiovascular workout. I do love the stepper, it takes the brunt of the impact making it more comfortable to my joints, however it doesn't have enough spring to it and when your jogging or jumping you really have to pay attention to where you are or aren't landing, the stepper should be a bit longer with more bounce to it. Over all, its my favorite add on piece so far. I  say so far because I'm debating the toe bar purchase, it may be even funner. Overall, I love it but wish it had more spring.
