I bought this because I have a bad back and I didn't need to be lifting my Honda eu3000 generator or my 95qt Pelican cooler into my truck. This hitch hoist was not just easy to assemble or set up but it does the job. I like the welded handle by the winch it makes swinging my load into the truck easy not to leave out the nice bearings and races that make it smooth. Shipping weight is 40 lbs but because I can break this down into 2 easily handled sections I don't have a problem carrying it. That handle also makes it nice to carry the upper portion. I have a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 and I lifted my generator with room to spare. And putting the main part on top of the base isn't too high so assembly is easy. First time using I would say that in about 5 minutes I had my generator in my truck. I highly recommend this hitch hoist. Just keep an eye on the first roller while lifting, if tour not lined up it will roll over the roller. Once I caught it I didn't have a problem. I chalked that up to user error

I've been wanting a receiver hitch hoist for some time, but most of the ones I looked at were cheaply built. I was considering building one with weight bench components until I ran across the Kill Shot hoist. Not only is it well built, the adjustable foot makes it very stable and it pivots on two sets of bearings, not a piece of pipe like most of the others. My Dodge Ram pick-up sits very high, so this is going to work great for lifting generators and other heavy items onto the tailgate and into the bed. Priced well, too!

Surprisingly rugged receiver hitch hoist!

I seldom buy things online like this because you can never tell the quality. I was 500% satisfied with this hoist.. after taking maybe 15-20 minutes to unpack and assemble I could tell this was strong. That same weekend i downed a deer and put it to work. 1.5 hours later deer was quartered and i was driving home all from the tailgate of my truck. unbelievable quality. I'm giving it 5 stars because this is a great price on a quality hoist. my only concern is the webbing and after inspecting it you can always buy a heavy duty one to replace it with for under 50 bucks. your getting a hoist that will stand the test of time...

We found this on line after my elk hunting partner saw a competitors design on another rig. The DR hoist is preferred; the finish is better, we like the welds (VS nuts & bolts) as well as the height, two piece construction and apparent ease of use. We have high hopes to use it this coming season. If so we can post a follow-up evaluation.

Hopeful hoist

Bought winch to save my tired old back when dressing out and transporting deer. Got to use it recently helping my brother load a 200lb buck he got. Saved both our backs, set up was fast and it worked great. Highly recommend this product for anyone looking for an easy hoist for the back of your truck.

Best investment I've made in back savers

Two days after delivery I hoisted an Axis buck, field dressed him, and loaded him in the pick up bed single handed. So much easier than the last Axis I had to manhandle into the pick up.

Works like a champ

I am an avid hunter AND a wife of an avid hunter. My precious husband wanted to get an easy to handle hoist for me when HE is hunting in another state. We got this last week, attached it to the truck to see the difficulty, and was very pleasantly surprised to find how simple but extremely handy this will be next hunting season. I am after the BIG one that eluded me this year!!!!

Even I can do this!!!

First I want to say I ordered it on a Tuesday and I had it on Friday and ready to use sorry to say i had no luck that weekend. I bought this unit to attach to my RZR800 side by side because I can't load a deer in it by myself and it is hard to load one even if 1 on my buddies helps (the back of RZR800 is a little high and I am a little verticaly challenged) so I have made a few small modifications to the unit and now I can load anything I want into the back of my RZR by my self without bothering my buddies.

I was looking for something to help load deer into the back of my pickup after harvesting an extra heavy deer in November. I had to load it by myself and in doing so aggravated a previous shoulder and elbow injury. This hoist will be just the ticket for loading a deer into a pickup. It is in the back of my truck right now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The winch is sub par. The safety wedge broke right away so now I have to block the retraction with a screw driver. Very disappointed
