I placed it on top of my grandparents washtub to make a storage unit that holds sentimental value with functional qualities.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this piece of wood is incredible. I bought it cautiously optimistic, and wow was I surprised. It is soooo nice, heavy, thick, strong wood and the grain is beautiful. I do think it actually came a bit finished as there is a sheen on it. So if you want to refinish it you will need to sand a bit to stain it.  But this is totally worth it.
