Can be rich and savory, but also bland and unappealing.

I have 3 picky dogs of various ages and sizes. They are all gobbling this Pure balance  Grain free salmon dry food down. They have been eating it for a couple of weeks. I checked the ingredients and they are better than the more expensive food they were getting.

My 3 dogs all love it!

I LOVE the Pure Balance dog food.  We have a Newfoundland-mix pup that has lots of sensitivites and allergies, and we have tried numerous brands, including very expensive vet recommended foods that my dog refuses to eat.  This food has high quality natural ingredients while keeping additives to a minimum.  It does contain chicken fat for flavoring, but my vet advised that the fat does not contain proteins and therefore should not cause any issues with chicken related allergies, and after feeding this to our dog for a year, we have had absolutely zero issues. 

My dog's coat is very shiny from the essential fish oils in this food, and I receive regular comments on how beautiful her coat is.  Her itching has gone down considerable since switching, and the price is very affordable and budget friendly.  I definitely recommend this food.

Excellent for allergies and sensitivities.

I have one dog with a sensitive tummy, she can't eat a lot of foods and this doesn't case her any issues, it's been great! And seems pretty healty. It's my go to! And my other dog likes it as well.

It's excellent

The food kibbles are smaller, which is best for my dog, who can sometimes forget to chew. He loves salmon and fish, which helps with his fur. He appears to enjoy it immensely and that makes me happy, and my wallet happy.

Best Alternative to Acana

Our dog has tried several different food with rashes and spots with no hair. Terrible ears with black gunk in them. Now on this food she has a thicker coat her spots have cleared up as well as her ears. She is also more settled.

Food allergies

My bully has allergies and this works well for her. Its priced extremely reasonably for the quality. Ideally my dog would be on a raw diet but thats not in budget so this works

Good quality for price

Left him feeling hungry. Cost doesn't justify low value for money if you need to blow through the bag to keep him satiated. I noticed gum bleeding after some time using it so at the very least it's not helpful for teeth support. Upside, no vomiting or bloat. Perhaps add some oil (healthy fats) to improve nutrition and satiation. In the end I decided to return to an independent distributor with higher protein content beyond meat meal and pea proteins.

Will do for short term pinch

my dogs are refusing to eat this dog food. i thought it would be better for them then the cheap beneful but i need to return it. mixed it with their old food to properly introduce it but they would rather go hungry.

I thought this food was a healthy choice for my Great Dane. It turns out my vet said large breed dogs especually need grains in their diet to prevent heart issues. My dane now has a slight heart murmur.

Not healthy for large breeds

for 3 consecutive days, my dog threw up after eating it and nothing else. The last bag we bought about a year ago was fine. Not sure what happened with this bag.
