Can be sturdy and detailed, but also prone to fragile parts.

Features intricate details and moving parts.

Made with outstanding materials and unique designs.

Features a balance of complexity and enjoyment.

My kid and I built this together over the weekend. Compared to the older 8-wide F1 cars, the aerodynamics on this MCL38 build are way more accurate. The way they integrated the halo protection bar and the rear wing structure using tiny technic elements is pure genius. Just a warning: there are a ton of tiny 1x1 pieces and slopes, so keep a tray handy so you don't lose anything in the carpet. It's got a great weight to it once finished and doesn't feel fragile when you pick it up.

That papaya orange pops on the shelf

LEGO Speed Champions #77251 – McLaren F1® Team MCL38 Race Car
If you're an F1 fan and a LEGO lover, this one hits the sweet spot. The LEGO Speed Champions 77251 McLaren F1 Team MCL38 Race Car captures the bold papaya-orange look of the real 2024 McLaren with impressive detail for such a compact build. At 269 pieces, it's a quick but satisfying build that still packs in authentic F1 elements like the halo cockpit, rear wing, sponsor decals, and those iconic Pirelli tyres.
The shaping is surprisingly sleek for Speed Champions scale — once it's finished, it genuinely looks like a tiny F1 machine ready for the grid. The included McLaren driver minifigure is the perfect finishing touch, making it just as fun for display as it is for play.
For me, this is one of those builds that feels simple but looks seriously impressive on the shelf. A must-have if you're collecting the full F1 grid.

Belle for the price

My 12 year old grandson loves to build the formula 1 cars. He has done many and some above his age level. He meticulously reads each instruction and builds his cars. He was so excited to pick his Valentine's Day gift and immediately asked for a new F1 Car. Love buying these for him. He now has his younger brother (5yrs) excited about building Legos. Perfect gift for your kids who have patience and love to build things.

My grandson wanted this for Valentine's Day

FANTASTIC!! This was such a good purchase. Yes, I'm a grown man who builds legos. I find it very relaxing to build one nice set each month.

Couldn't be better!

Fun and easy! Looks great! Yay for racing! Yay for Lego! Yay for McLaren!

Yay Lego racing!

This item was purchased as a gift for my grandson. He has multiple LEGO cars and this added to his collection. He was thrilled.

The experience at the store was disappointing. I had to wait 15-20 mins at the customer service for the person to go and bring the product.

Online Puchase - Pickup at store - Not recommend

I have a little trouble understanding all the good comments about this F1 and above all, I have a hard time understanding how Lego could market a car, whose primary function is to drive, which does not run well! Someone had the "brilliant" idea of putting the tenons upside down under the car rubbing on the floor and it was validated! It's as bad as the latest turbo tank clone from star wars. Lego should review its quality service that validates the constructions of its employees. Glad I didn’t pay the price for this set in the area. But my son is disappointed.

A car that does not drive

Dear Lego Team,

Hi there, I'm writing to express my significant disappointment with my recent purchase of this product, McLaren F1® Team MCL38 Race Car, primarily regarding the poor quality and fragility of the lego pieces.

I have been a loyal and satisfied customer of the Speed Champions line, owning three previous models that were exceptional in terms of build quality and structural integrity. However, the substandard quality of this product was far worse than what I initially anticipated. My primary concern is the product's fragility and the lego block's poor ability to remain conjoined. Despite following the instructions carefully and implementing tight reinforcements, pieces failed to connect and the assembly of a component led to another component falling off.

I dedicated several hours of my day to assemble this lego set I really— emphasised on really— tried to endure the poor quality of the product however my frustration peaked when the model began to fall apart while I was attaching the final components despite being meticulous with my hands.

This is an unacceptable level of fragility and I respectfully ask you to take my perspective into account and improve in your future products. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
