This unit is amazing.  My granddaughter is going to love this I love it!  It's spacious and very colorful.  I was very impressed that I received it earlier than I thought.   It gave me time to put it together before my granddaughters big day.

This was definitely worth every penny.

The hamster loves the cage, but the plastic tubes are difficult to get together, and the doors can easily be popped open, which makes it easier for hamsters to escape, had to use alligartor clips to keep them closed.

Great habitat...but beware!!!
The GOOD: This habitat is great! It has everything you need built right into it and has tons of room for your hamster to run around in and looks great!!! Assembly was very easy as well!!!

The BAD: The only bad thing is totally dependant upon the size of your hamster. If you have a dwarf hamster that is on the smaller size of dwarfs, it can fit between the bars. My daughter picked out a dwarf hamster that was smaller and skinnier than all of the other ones at the pet store and in the middle of the night, it squeezed through the bars to get out. Unfortunately for poor snowball...we also have a cat! So when me and my wife woke up in the morning...we found him headless on the kitchen floor by her accidentally stepping on his headless body. Was like when you step on a ketchup packet.
Luckily my daughter was still sleeping from being up late playing with him and it gave me time to race around to every pet store around until I finally found one that was a close enough match...but was also fat enough that he shouldn't be able to fit through the bars. Was a very traumatic experience for the wife and would have been absolutely terrible for my little girl if should have found out.
This is in no way the manufacturer or the cages fault as the hamster was really just abnormally small...even for a dwarf.

The good...the bad...and the ugly!

It's a very large house for hamsters, and it's great except for one thing. The pink house in the top corner. My hamster fit through the door just fine, but he tried to go out the window and got stuck, it took hours to try to get him out. It's a great cage, I would just be cautious with that window. Maybe other hamsters are smarter than mine, but I would be careful with it anyways. Other than that, everything is great

LIkes: I like the size of the cage, it gives my hamster lots of room to move around. The multiple levels provide a lot of variety to keep the hamster busy. I also like that the cage included most of the essentials: food bowl, water bottle, exercise wheel, tubes, and sleeping quarters (plastic home). The base is easily removed for cleaning.


Dislikes: A bit difficult to assemble and very time consuming. It took nearly 3 hours to assemble completely. You will be OK if you are patient and follow the not-so-helpful instructions. The wheel is cheaply made, is not perfectly round, bends easily and began to squeak almost immediately. I used some oil to improve the noise issue but ended up purchasing a flying saucer type wheel separately.  Also, my hamster built it's sleeping nest in the middle of the long tube. I ended up removing that tube but had to improvise because there are two holes in the cage for it and no way (included) to block them off.

I don't recommend this cage for a new pet because the multiple levels and areas give the pet too many places to hide that are difficult to reach, so extracting the pet from the cage can be frustrating when the pet is not yet trained to come to your hand rather than hide from it. Start with a large storage bin such as a Sterilite 105 quart unit which is made of nearly clear plastic. It is tall enough not to need a top and you can easily modify it to accept a water bottle. Add an exercise wheel and you're good to go. You can get the pet used to coming to your hand by offering food. Another trick is to use a small cup with a treat in it. The pet will crawl into the cup and you can lift from the enclosure. Once the animal is trained, or if you just got the pet to observe and not to handle, this cage is ideal.

It is a nice maze of ladders and tunnels to keep the hampster active when is locked up .    But the wheel is worthless.  High friction causes it to turn the bracket to cafe snd come off.   It can trap the hampster.  It is also such a small diameter  wheel it can cause excessive back arch of a hampster per websites I read.  The rest of the cage is great.

Putting this together was a pain in the glute muscles.

I got this cage thinking “it's bigger, more space for my new little critter.” Yeah, it's bigger but he escaped within the first hour of being in it. The structure of this is that of a bird cage. This isn't a good hamster cage because hamsters are too intelligent not to find the loop holes this thing has. Not to mention the price of it does not have matching quality.
