Great shaver, had a series 5 Braun for many many years and upgraded to the newest. I'm glad I did it's quieter smoother and ergonomically designed for the hand. The swiveling head is terrific

Braun is the best brand for razors. This one was hands down the best. Great orice and will last a long time.

Me: 74 year old male with a beard that I keep neatly trimmed to about 1/4 inch.
I have always used a disposable, twin blade, razor to shave around the beard. Wrinkles that come with getting older can lead to nicks and cuts. My hope was that this electric shaver would eliminate the bleeding.

Good news: 
No nicks or cuts!

Bad news: 
It takes much longer to get the job done, and the overall cost of shaving will increase over time, that is, IF I replace the blade cartridge, rechargeable battery and cleaning solution as required. (Not likely that I will comply with all that.)

Complaints: 
Poor documentation! The instructions rely on my ability to interpret their grade-school, icon-based artwork, and my ability to read the tiny print. So, I went to their website to download the document to increase the size. That is still no replacement for well written documentation.

Poor documentation

Trimmed facial hair fine. Foil attachment was not able to trim neck or throat well at all. I had to use the beard comb first and then the foil for it to work. Went back to my 40$ Phillips

Ergonomically the razor was comfortable - the shave, however, was not great.  I have very old and sensitive skin, and it was irritated from the razor.  I will be returning the product.  I have never bought a product with such poor directions for its use - no descriptions, just pictures.  I just want a simple plug in razor.

Not a great purchase for me.

I purchased this to replace my Braun model 8585 (which I purchased in June of 2005). This new one does not shave nowhere as close as my old shaver. At the cost I expected better from Braun.  I would not buy this one if I had known it would not shave better.

Not worth the price

I had a three day growth and the razor painfully grabbed the facial hair growth. I will probably try to exchange or return the razor

Not Braun quality.

I bought this thinking it would be an upgrade in shave quality of my $39 Phillips Norelco...i was wrong. The $39 Phillips shaves just as close so i returned this Braun.

no better than a cheaper razor

I purchased this product in November of 2021 because the wet/dry capabilities sold me. I read good reviews online and was ready to invest in a moderately expensive product to replace my manual razor. I've tried using it dry 3 times since I purchased it and I continue to have the same problem - no matter which way I shave (up, down, against the hair growth, following the hair growth, etc.), the blade misses large patches of whiskers and it leaves a very incomplete and patchy shave with some long whiskers sticking out. I also tried using it wet with a little soap, with just water and no soap, and using just a thin layer of shaving cream; the results were equally disappointing as it barely cut any whiskers. I agree that the instructions are abominable and you wouldn't expect that out of a German brand but just read the rest of the reviews for yourself. This was an expensive investment for my lifestyle and I can confidently say that you will have better results from using a safety razor with a single blade. I ended up using my safety razor and it took 1/4 of the time to achieve any even smoother result. I will be returning this product.

Overpriced Mistake

Instructions suck. Plan time on internet to use it. Does great if you shave first. Not a close shave. Still have stubbles.
