Provides stability and comfort for ankles and feet.

These sneakers have been super helpful for me. I stand/walk at work all day, and have already put 100 miles on them, but they are still super comfy and help alleviate back pain. I've also had collapsed arches for years and these are the only shoes I've had that help.

First Pair of Asics

I'm not even a runner, these are my everyday walking-around shoes. Years ago, I wore a previous generation of Gel-Kayano shoes all around European cities sightseeing all day for a week, and my feet were not sore at all. This was the first pair of shoes I had where I could do that! So I've stuck with Gel-Kayano since then.

Walking on a cloud

I actually prefer the kayano 27. The soles are softer on the 28 but the 28s are more narrow and are more uncomfortable for long term wear. I'd like to see this sole in the 27. Not sure what they did to the top of the shoe but it squeezes the foot and actually causes the foot to go numb over time.

I'll keep my Kayano 27s

I have worn Gel-Kayano sneakers for as long as I can remember.  They are my go to shoes. Although the Gel-Kayano 28 are OK...I am not in love with them.  They seem different.  They fit lower on my foot and just does not come up as high as the 27, 26, etc.  Please Asics bring back the old style.

Great Design,Light Weight-Back Turns Down When Putting On ! Expected MORE CUSHION!! DISAPPOINTED!! What HAPPENED ASICS! Wore ASICS for YEARS-!RUNS SMALL-After ALL these Years ,I Am a 1/2 Size Larger? Previous Years and Years Ago Could Go in or on Line ,Purchase with PERFECT Fit and COMFORT,NO MORE! QUALITY??? Seriously Thinking of Looking for Another Brand! ASICS….. WHAT HAPPENED???

Quality-Comfort

The heel of these shoes is rolling over a bit after a few weeks of wear. The letters and words on the inside soles have also all worn off already. The toe of the left foot is also wavy. My podiatrist recommended this brand to me but I'm not really impressed.

I hate to leave a negative comment on the Gel Kayano shoe - I have been a loyal gel kayano wearer for over 17 years and have probably purchased close to 40 pairs because they were an excellent shoe for my femoral patella knee issues. There is something about the pitch of the 28 that has changed substantially enough that I actually developed knee pain when wearing these shoes - when I reverted back to wearing my 26 version my knee began to heal again. I tried to return the shoes but because I had already worn them (I had become accustomed to feeling confident that this was my shoe and it always worked), i was not able to return them. Just really disappointed that I will have to find another brand as I have loved my ASICS

Gel Kayanos no longer work for me

I'm sure that this shoe fits some customers, but it did not work for me because of the lack of adequate side platform to make it stable. The shoe leans to the outside and does not support my entire foot. It does not have the STABILITY of the Gel Kayano 27. I simply could not wear it. I'm disappointed that it was so extremely different from the GK 27. Did any other customers notice this basic, game-changing difference? I would really like to know if this will be the way all Gel Kayanos will be constructed in the future. ASICS is the only brand I have worn for years, and I would hate to have to change, but this is a big deal to me. Stability is everything. Could you please reply to me about this?

What happened to the stability??

I feel deceived.  I pay extra for the Kayano due to the sturdy stability truss in the arch area.  I noticed the truss was removed and the stability not quite as good as the prior model.  Significant material cost savings for ASICS, quality degradation for the customer.  I'm investigating other running shoe brands for my next purchase.  ASICS lost a 15+ year customer who bought 2-3+ pairs of shoes per year.

I was really disappointed with this version of kayano. I love the kayanos but they keep changing them and all of us long time lovers would kindly ask you to please stop changing something that was already so great. This kayano is a totally different feel and shoe and my foot moves too much in them (feet hurt). Please bring back the original kayano (From 27 and back) I feel that you just keep making new versions for marketing/money purposes and that you would make a lot more money if you just kept the same kayano that people rave about and would improve the quality of the company. Stop changing it!!!!!!!!!
