The GEL-NIMBUS 23 running shoe continues to offer excellent comfort and long-run impact absorption. Its improved stability provides a more balanced stride that's followed by smoother transitions. Constructed with comfort and breathability in mind, this shoe features a softer engineered mesh design for long runs. Engineered eyelet shaping helps the upper move more naturally with the foot, while a stretchy midfoot panel appropriately hugs the foot to generate better flexibility. Additionally, the shoe's upper is made with recycled materials to reduce waste and carbon emissions. Providing the runner with excellent shock absorption and softness, the GEL-NIMBUS 23 delivers more compression in the heel thanks to its softer GEL technology cushioning unit and contoured design lines. Also, a gender-specific TRUSSTIC device provides an articulated amount of support in the right direction for men and women to help generate a smooth transition. Under the toe, the inclusion of gender-specific pillars help cushion the body and help runners experience a softer feel. Simultaneously, the OrthoLite X-55 sockliner equips runners with a forgiving, yet responsive stride. The components of the GEL-NIMBUS 23 shoe help increase the softness without forgoing the integrity of the shoe's ride. I've worn Brook's Ghost for 11-straight years, from the Ghost 3, all the way up to the Ghost 13....that is, until the Gel-Nimbus 23 by Asics. This shoe is simply amazing! The fit, the form, the function, ...all equally amazing! Why did I switch after all these years? The Gel-Nimbus 23 provides the function and support that works for my gait and normal/high arches. This is something that only Brooks had been able to do for years. But low and behold, Brooks appears to have lost their way, and sadly, the Ghost is not what it once was, and that's not a good thing. This coming from someone who lays down 20-25 miles per week. Luckily, I found the Gel-Nimbus 23, and couldn't be happier!!! It's my new favorite shoe hands down!

Let's start here, I have major feet problems and they have all come to a head within the last two years. I was hobbling around in pain night and day. But a sales clerk fitted me for a pair of Nimbus 23 and some insoles. Hands down the best shoe I have that allows me to be in my feet a better portion of the day. So much so that I've decided to go get boxes to pack up the other many dozen pair of shoes I own but don't help with my issues. I bought about 5 pair of these during the Christmas sale so I wouldn't be without.

Best Shoe I've had in years !!!

These are absolutely incredible! I have very high arches, and undersupinate when running. These are fantastic for support and comfort. Matter of fact i bought these shortly after i bought last years gray patterned Gel Nimbus 23's, and it's insane to even think they are the same style of shoe. Last years model is stiff, and when I run in them I feel the strike throughout my knees and ankles when running. Hopefully they get more of these in stock, cause i will order several pair more.

Amazing! Feels like your walking on a cloud

Unbelievably comfortable.  I always stick with the Gel Nimbus (why try to fix what isn't broken?!). It is the maximum cushioning I am after, and these running shoes are 5-stars. I really like the arch support as well. I ordered the Digital Grape/Black which is a lively and fun color combination.

The best for cushioning!

Absolutely love the gel Nimbus 23's. They have a nice wide, toebox, plenty of stable cushioning, and are a reasonable weight. I will continue to buy these until I can't find any more because the small changes to the Nimbus 24s don't work for me. Because I am training for an Ironman I go through a pair every couple of months. I hope Asics goes back to this design in version 25.

Gel Nimbus 23

I've been a long time Asics Nimbus user going back to the Asics Nimbus 12.  Asics had made changes and I had noticed sizing issues with the last four versions (19-22).  They were narrower and I had to go up a half size.  The last version -22 it seemed I had some quick wearing out issues.  Asics addressed my issues and I am pleased to now report on the 23's.  The sizing is back! I am in my original size (10.5) and the area in the toe box has improved and not as narrow as the past four versions.  The overall cushion of the shoes seems to be improved as well.  I am optimistic that they have listened to their loyal customers and gone back to what is tried and true.  I like the 23's and have since bought a second pair to rotate my shoes.  I've only put on about 30 miles at this point so an early review.  Happy running!

Review of the Asics Nimbus 23's.

In a word, disappointing.
These Gel Nimbus 23 are my 14th pair of Gel Nimbus, the prior had all been Gel Nimbus 22.
Although some noticeable improvement of cushioning in some areas, the overall template/footprint of the shoe has also noticeably changed.
The shoe was initially comfortable enough for casual wearing, and so my assessment was that they would be equally as comfortable for road work as the 22 had been.  
Unfortunately, after a few miles on the road they begin to feel restrictive and uncomfortable, and not as generous regarding toe room feel as the 22 had been.
These are supposed to be size 9. I am barely a size 9 so I had assumed the room would be similar to that of the 22, but based on the feel, the footprint has either deviated too much from the prior model or there there is something inherently wrong with this pair of shoes.
I was going to go to the 24 next but am now concerned and skeptical that a global design change has made it so that Asics is no longer a shoe that I can confidently continue with.

In a word, disappointing

The Nimbus 23 is narrower than the Nimbus 22 in the toebox.  I matched the soles of the 23s against the 22s and the difference is significant (and I wear a D width).  They were just too narrow and I had to send them back.

They used to make great shoes but I have tried them for the last several years since I've been running in ASICS for 35 years.  These we're horrible.  They feel cheap.
