I waited several weeks before posting this review to see how the shoes felt on my feet and I'm here to say these shoes are great. I bought these to walk around my 1.7M sq ft warehouse for work. Concrete floors, climate controlled and I walk about 6 miles a day. These shoes have stood up to the challenge. 

I have BIG FAT feet like Sasquatch/Fred Flintstone and ordered these in a 13 4E and have zero regrets. Plenty of room in the toe box and the gel heel feels great all day. The typical swelling of the feet through the day doesn't seem to be an issue with these shoes as with other shoes and boots I have. They are light and feel cool on the feet with excellent breathability. Overall I am extremely pleased and only time will tell about the longevity.

Great Shoes For All Around and Warehouse Work

Fit well for my very wide feet. I am just using them for ‘every day' footwear, but they feel very comfortable.  I did get a bit longer than my ‘real' size, since I have very, very wide feet.

I have large bunions and these are a good fit. They are the most comfortable shoes I have owned in a long time.

Excellent this is my very first pair of your sneakers. I didn't realize you made wide sizes I'm a fourE this shoe is so comfortable I walk a lot and I plan on purchasing a second pair

Outstanding for walking

To start I have a pair of Gel-Venture 6's that I love. Those are getting well worn down so I figured I'd buy some 8's. They are fairly similar but seems like they are a little bit skinnier that the 6s. I mean more than just the normal new Shor tightness. But I think with a little stretch they be alright in the end.

Slightly skinnier Tham Gel Venture 6s.

Bought these as role placements for the Gel Venture 6. They feel smaller across the toes, and the laces are super thin and shorter than before. It's difficult to tie them for heel-lock, and the thin lace is challenging when hands are cold or wet.

Not an improvement in width or lacing from the 6

Sole cushioning is very thin, I can subtly feel the pattern/shape of the treads on the bottom of my feet when walking on hard surfaces.  These are not as rugged as the models of years past.

Lack of Cushion

Really wanted to like these but they're just too uncomfortable. My right foot measures 8.5 3E, and the 9.5 was too short and narrow. It also heats up like crazy; my feet felt like a sauna immediately after I put them on.

Disappointed

The sizing was substantially off - the shoe was extremely loose in length, a classic source of blistering as the shoe slips up and down on the heel. It was also pinching in the right shoe just behind the little toe, not from being too tight but from a misformed portion of the upper.

And in general the Gel-Venture 5 was the last shoe that I have really enjoyed. That shoe was a great combination of lightness, support, and comfort. To my taste, a trail runner should not be over-padded and cushioned, that just makes a turned ankle more likely. A light and firm support is much more useful off-road. I wish I had recognized that Asics would not maintain the excellent qualities of the Gel-Venture 5, I would have bought six pairs instead of only three!

Gel-Venture series continues to go wrong

been wearing asics trail runner for 15 yrs (2 sets of shoes.) i get that models change. however, new model was not  as aggressive looking as old. sole was narrower, so less balance. tongue was very small, less cushion. heel much lower, less support. even though i bought wide, shoe laces were far apart. again less support. old style laces pulled in tight and close. price of inflation, i guess; pay more get less. went to merrell; again, not as aggressive a look, but very supportive.
