[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ameriwood Home Parsons Storage Bench, Espresso came un-assembled. After removing all the pieces from the box and accounting for each piece, I proceeded to put it together. You actually need two persons to do this. Assembling the different sections was easy; following the directions. Once it was together, then I placed the cushion on the top and moved it into position. I had a couple of different people (of varying weights) sit on it to see if it could hold up. It did! And, it is comfortable to sit on. I enjoy being able to put on and take off my shoes right at the front door! And, they store in the bench in one of the cubby holes. I would recommend this bench to anyone who is looking for a smart looking storage piece for their front hall or even living room.

Easy to assemble and Sturdy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice cute bench, which looks like the picture, but a little small in size. Assembling it took me 2 hours , I'm a female and instructions were easy to understand, the assembly requires a different kind of screws and their locks (provided) that takes a little time to get used to. Otherwise it's a cute little bench that can be used as a small sitting spot if kept by a wall, other than its obvious uses.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely LOVE this Parsons bench. I love the dark color of the wood stain, which is called espresso, and the lighter colored bench pad, that I would call maybe oatmeal. It's fairly easy to put together. It did take looking at the instructions rather closely, but it's definitely not hard to do. It is very heavy, so you would want to have 2 people to lift it or move it. It's a really nice size – ~37”W X 15.5”H X 15 3/8” D without the pad. The pad is approximately 2” thick and kind of firm. It has plenty of storage area underneath, which is sectioned off into 5 areas. The larger area in the center could easily hold a cloth or canvas “drawer” if desired or taller items that would not fit on the smaller sections. The ends have smaller sections, however, each section can hold up to 20 lbs. and the top can hold up to 240 lbs. It is very sturdy and seems to be a well-made piece of furniture. I could not recommend it more this more. It would be a great addition to any home, no matter what room you use it in. A definite 5 stars from me!

Solidly built storage bench

the cushion for the top isn't very attractive and looks old before it is, and it is noted that it is NOT white but an off white.  you might want to make a cover for it to be more attractive.   this is a very solid piece and looks great in our bedroom.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This parson's storage bench is a stylish and sturdy,It can be used for just about anything.I have mine in my bedroom holding extra blankets,but it would be great for shoes,towels,bathroom supplies or just about anything, it has 5small shelf's and in the middles a nice big open shelf that you could put a bin in. It also has a 2inch foam cushion that you can sit on,it holds up to 240lbs. My nephew sat on it and he's a good size guy!! The only reason I didn't give it a 5star was,because the instuctions are a little hard to understand and theirs quite a lot of parts.it takes two people to put this bench together,but once its done its very sturdy.

Stylish storage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, when unpacking there were multiple marks, scratches and chips. These did not occur during shipping as there was already an attempt to cover them up. There were many edges of a poor laminate job coming loose or damaged that had been patched. They instruct you to clean with furniture polish before assembly, but you aren't gonna want to remove the letter stickers just yet.
I have built a lot of boxed furniture and this was not difficult to assemble. But it is a pain due to the quality of the materials used. The cam screws must go in perfectly straight or the pieces will not align properly. But the "wood" you are screwing them into literally crumbles apart so you have to get it right first try. There are 4 steps to the directions, step #4 is to peel and stick the double sided tape on the cushion to the top of the bench, leaving all assembly instructions concentrated to 3 steps? The double sided tape is already applied to the cushion, therefore the cushion cannot be flipped for longer wear. It has the typical cam locking system found in boxed furniture, which are sturdy if you got them in straight.
My problem is with the amount of damage or "imperfections" that occurred during manufacturing, which I do not like to see on a new piece of furniture. It was touched up with various puttys, glues and markers or paint. When you look closely, it is very sloppy looking. If it obtained that much damage during manufacturing, it does not give me much confidence that it will be a durable piece of furniture. The 2 star are due to the fact that it does function as it was intended.
