I was thrilled to find this creamy mushroom risotto from Uncle Ben's at my local Walmart. It's easy to make, delicious, and fairly affordable. Making risotto from scratch is a time consuming affair (especially when you follow Nonna's recipe) so this new product means that I can enjoy risotto more often but with less effort. That's a win-win for me!

Great meal for a busy weekday

This instant risotto fooled me it was quick and tasty. I do still prefer making my own risotto but being a mom. Time is not always an option. So having this as back up in my kitchen cupboard in the future will be a must. I recommend this as a mom Emergency dinner option

Yummy Mushroom

Hmm this was so good, will buy this again for sure, the perfect side dish for any meal, I really do hope they make more flavours cause this is the huge household success, also very good with freshly grated Parmesan !!

Good till the last bite, A big big dinner success

So easy to make.  Package says 90 seconds in microwave but depends on power of your microwave.  I did 3 minutes and it came out great.  Lots of flavour and great texture.  Would definitely buy again.

Creamy Mushroom Risotto

I love this flavour, it is so delicious. I have been using this brand for years. I would definitely recommend to anyone I know!

Rice by Ben's

I have never made risotto before but heard about it many times so I thought I would try Ben's Original Risotto Creamy Mushroom.  I thought it was very good taste-wise!  It was very easy to prepare - add small amount of water, put in microwave for required time (1.5-2 minutes, depends on your microwave) and stir the contents once heating is done and you have a tasty rice/risotto dish!  I would buy this again.

Fast/easy risotto dish

This has a pretty mild flavour that doesn't stand out and seems more like mushroom soup mixed with pasta. The risotto is more a like a pasta than the creamy textured goodness.

Just OK but not enough mushroom

Like the other Ben express products that I like, this one is also a microvable convient pouch that is ready in about 1 minute.  The only addition to this one is that you have to add water and it gives you the option of making it in a pan.  My only criticism is that it doesn't really taste like authentic risotto, but it still nice tasting.  could've used more mushroom taste.

Convenient!

I was a bit disappointed with the lack of seasoning. I added parmigiano, salt and pepper to the risotto to make it more palatable. The texture was creamy so that was favorable. It was really easy to prepare in the microwave and the instructions were clear.

Mild mushroom flavor

The taste was good, creamy enough, and I really liked the convenience of it being precooked. The only reason I'm not rating it higher is because I wish the sodium content wasn't as high

Great For Busy Schedules

I like uncle Ben's products but this was so gross-my whole family agreed. Tastes like mushroom oatmeal.
