This machine has a performance that would outshine the competitors. Its predecessor lasted me 10 years. 
It is user-friendly for maintenance. Depending on workload will determine the frequency in which filters should be cleaned. I realize that is common sense, but all of us can use friendly reminders. I guarantee that keeping the machine maintained (cleaning dirt cylinder and the two filters) contribute heavily toward performance and longetivity.

Great vacuum - solid performance. It literally "sucks it up".

Suck it Up

Had the same appliance for about 7 - 8 years.
That one wore out, and that was expected lifespan.
Walmart's price drop was competitive with other sellers, so bought the vacuum again.
Nice and light, perfect for household use.
Ordered online, and no silly extra online order charge to just go and pick up at store
Was ready for same day pickup at neighbourhood store

Bissell Powerforce upright vacuum

We purchased Smart Strand carpet for our home and didn't realize that we couldn't use our Dyson vacuum cleaner on this type of carpet.  We purchased the Bissell Power Force upright vacuum from Wal-Mart for about $100 and it has been working great on our new carpet for 4 years.

Great Vacuum for Smart Strand Carpet

Great suction and easy to lift on the stairs. No stair attachment but you can angle the power head down enough to do a thorough clean. Love this vacuum, my first lasted many years and I was so impressed I bought a second one for our small cabin and I've replaced my original one now. I have central vac but this little Bissell is far more powerful! Very easy to clean out the removable canister and to clean the beater bar if necessary as well as the filter and canister components.

Inexpensive and very effective

I have a fluffy cat. The first time I used this vacuum - about 2 days after using my canister cleaner - I half filled the container with pet hair. The hair was white on the cat and came out of the carpet dark grey - full of the dust, etc. that had been hiding in the carpet.
I love it for another reason as well - no bags to buy - everything empties into the garbage can and filters, etc. are washable.

Got a pet? You need this machine.

I rarely take the time to review products but this vacuum deserves recognition. We have been renting out our house for 4 years to young adults and the cat hair in our carpet was next level. I filled the canister twice (and it isn't small), and it pulled dirt and hair from the previous owners from 7 years ago i swear!
It also left the carpet pile fluffy again with beautiful carpet lines. We have been talking about replacing it because of how worn it looked and if it wasn't for the muddy pet stains we may keep it. - i also bought a bissell shampooer i haven't used yet so we will see!
For a hundred dollar vacuum id match it up against any electrolux or dyson and watch it perform circles around them. I am a cleaner by trade and own a cleaning company 15+ years. Previous vacuum: $1000 cordless, bagged, top of the line aerus /electrolux, hated it.

OMG, made my day

Excellent suction, easy to setup and works well for bare floor as well as for carpet. My last one worked 2 years but I misused it in my garage so it broke, so it is durable and reliable too. Only drawback it is a bit loud. Apart from that it is best and affordable vacuum. Grab it when on sale! It can be used as main house vacuum cleaner or keep one handy if you main vacuum cleaner failed. You will not be disappointed, just you have to bear a bit noise.

Great budge friendly vacuum cleaner

I can't say I am overly impressed with this machine and I may end up returning it.  The suction of the machine is great but for things that are a little thicker like pet kibble it seems to just push it along the floor, I am not sure that blue guard should be on the machine in front of the roller.  I can't get my hose to go up and over the machine like the photo, mine is coming out to the side.  The hose is stiff and hard to get into the holder.  The attachment wand is very short and you still have to bend over a long way when doing baseboards.  The noise is horrible, can't hear yourself think when it is on.  I have a hard time when I want to stop to get the machine to lock into the upright position.  I do like where the pedal is for unlocking the handle and the power are, they are easy to use.  I haven't tried to empty the cup yet.

POWER FORCE

Looks and feels cheaply built. Cord is too short. Have to pretty much change plug in every different room. Makes a horrid screech when I turn power off. And this is after only using it once so far. Very disappointed. If I could afford it I would buy a whole new vacuum.

Thought I did my research…fail

Bought two months ago. Worked well for the first month. Now it can't pick much off the carpet and smells like the motor is about to burn . Not really impressed and I'm glad I waited a few months before giving this review because the first month was great but now not so much. Already shopping for another vacuum cleaner
