The flavor is enhanced with a hint of cardamom and saffron. <br> <br>Served cold in summer and hot in winter, this dessert was first introduced during Mughal times.  The word ‘Halwa’ comes from Arabic and means sweet. Carrots being the primary ingredient, Gajar Halwa is a great source of the vitamins A, C and K. Carrots are also rich in beta-carotene, which helps the skin by blocking the UV rays. The milk content adds proteins and calcium to the dish while dry fruits give it antioxidants making this a nutritious dessert!
