It's our favourite margarine to buy - I find that becel is the only margarine that does not make your toast soggy like when buttering toast and the flavour is great tasting. And it's healthy as my partner is Diabetic and we're learning to eat much healthier.

I have been using Becel Olive oil margarine since it came on the shelf. But about 3 weeks ago I bought 2 large containers on sale. The first one i opened had an off taste, so I opened the other one, it also doesn't taste right. Is there a change in the recipe or is it a bad batch? Is that why it was on sale? We just can't eat it, i was thinking I could save it for baking, but I don't want it to ruin my baking. Not sure if I will keep buying it. Don't want to take a chance on it being the same bad taste. 
Could someone please let me know if it has changed.

Disappointed

I have been using Becel with Olive Oil since the product was first introduced, however my last 2 purchases have been unlike the original taste.  The taste is awful and as a result I opened my additional tub to find it just as bad tasting.  Have you changed the olive oil?  Needless to say I have gone back to using butter.

Has there been a change?

We have been using this margarine for years and now somebody in your company has made a change and it now tastes like crap. We will be looking for a different brand now.

Big change

I have been buying Becel for years but I just opened a new tub and it has a disgusting metallic smell and flavor, I had to throw it out - I googled to see if there was some recall notice and found messages on your becel.ca website of others having the same experience and that this is not tainted? but your new recipe?? the olive oil was my absolute favorite but if this is how it will taste and its not a recall i will never buy this again
 I also cannot believe the response from Becel - disappointed that you don't enjoy our new simpler recipe ?? is Becel dilusional? how did it even get past the tedsting stage - it is AWFUL, I spit out my bite of bread - it is not only repellant but INEDIBLE
Bring back the original recipe, its ridiculous for your company to think anyone wants to eat this with that metallic smell and taste

Did LOVE this but HATE the "new" taste

I buy your Olive Oil margarine and have for a long time. I noticed the label had been changed and that's fine, but the taste has changed too. It's horrible what did you do or more important why did you change the taste? It taste like chemicals, with no olive oil taste at all. Plus, my stomach has been queasy ever since I ate it. Now I have to take it back and somehow find another margarine that I like. Please notify me and let me know if there have been changes or have I eaten a bad batch and it's making me ill.....I have to know.

What happened?

I changed to margarine when I had to lose weight and loved your olive oil version. I have been a loyal customer for a few years now.  
When I saw you changed your packaging, I didn't expect for you to have changed the taste of the product.  I absolutely hate it!  It has a horrible after taste that will definitely keep me from buying Becel in the future.  Why did youo try to fix what definitely wasn't broken? I am very disappointed.

Why did you change my favourite margarine????

I have alot of food allergies so when I find a product that I can eat that tastes good I tend to stick with it. For at least 15 years now I have stuck with Becel with olive oil.  Until now... I had 3 containers in my fridge so when the first one tasted bad I checked the other 2. Yep, they all smelled and tasted spoiled. I assumed maybe it was a storage issue at the grocery store, so I threw all 3 out, went to another store and bought another container. Same disgusting taste and smell. I won't be buying again unless the formula gets changed back

Smells and tastes rancid

I've been buying this product for years but I bought 2 containers and they both taste disgusting.  It tastes expired and has unpleasant taste and smell. They obviously changed the ingredients.  I'm going to throw them out. And switch to another brand.

Tastes different

Your Becel with olive oil is a JOKE  6% Olive Oil and 68% Canola. It's misleading to advertise it as heart healthy - why don't you advertise the 6% palm oil on the main label as well.I will never purchase this produce again. Thank you CBC Marketplace.
