I purchased this line to use on my braid trolling rods as well as backing for my wire trolling rods. The line is perfectly round which helps it to lay on the spool nice and even and prevents the line from digging in. However the line is soft and easy to use should even cast well. Made in USA too.

My wife and I first used this line last week bass fishing and I tell you, this stuff is worth twice what it cost!!  It has a memory so the spool on our open bail reels can be filled to even with the rim of the spool.  Mono would spin out of the spool when that overloaded but this line stays put.  That means though, that the line comes off the spool easier and casting is easier and talk about making long casts, whew, this stuff is great for that!

This is one tough line!  8lb. test line seems to be unbreakable.  It acts more like 25lb test line.  

This is the ONLY line I will ever use in the future.  It casts much longer, won't kink up, won't spin off the spool, is super strong and is a lot thinner in diameter.

Fantastic line

I've been using fireline on all my inshore spinning reels for over 15 years. The new Ultra 8 is even smoother, quieter, more 
manageable, and more abrasion resistant 
than the original. In all those years of fishing with Fireline, I've never had a fish-related line failure. Not one! I'm a big fan!

The best!

I hear about Ultra 8 on the winter Walleye fishing programs sponsored by Berkley and being a fan of Fireline I thought the new line sounded worthwhile. Well I have tried it several times on trips in saltwater and it has a terrific casting ability, does not knot up in wind and lies on the reel beautifully. I was amazed with the casting distance it provides and its strength. I strongly recommend it to anyone who fishes hard and does a lot of casting.

This line is strong and great casting I would recommend to any angler.

I spooled up 10 rods with 10lb for walleye and smallmouth fishing.  Had very minimal wind knots stuff is very strong and can cast a mile.

Best braid i have ever used

I am a Bead Artist and use FireLine strictly for bead weaving purposes only!!
And I've been using it for a long time and it never disappoints...

I don't use for Fishing!!!

Been using it awhile, the white line stands out for these older eyes. Wanted the 8 braided kind because it is quieter and rounder. All fireline takes awhile to "limp up", ie it is sort of stiff out of the box. Thus the four stars.

Great product

This is the smmothest, best casting braid I have ever used. Knot strength suffers a bit because of the slickness. Experimenting with different knots to find what works best.

Line is much smoother and uniform than OG fireline but it's knot strength is suspect. It seems to either slip or simply breaks. OG fireline has great knot strength.

Decent

Bought this a month ago, used it twice and hated it. Already replaced my spool with another line. It's very noisy while reeling. You can see the line in the water the whole way in. Casting distance is the only pro about it. Would not recommend this product and I'm a Berkeley fanatic
