Yeah this stuff is great. Solid, and better quality than most. I have the U des, 2 drawer file cabinet and a shelf. Really happy to have all 3. It is an involved process to put them together but after you're done it makes total sense. Every time I got stuck and then got through it - it was indeed my fault one reason or another. I also put it together myself with only the help here and there (from my wife) to turn a large piece over or lift something - just wanted to avoid damaging the piece in any way. Oh! AND - how cool is it this is made in Canada?! Not China or anything like that. Very cool! AND definitely value priced. Thank you BESTAR!
oh last thing for BESTAR - the mounting for the long narrow "flanges" or trim pieces on the front of the desk and the shelving unit (around the open pockets and that run up and down) is a bad design. Hard to get tight and the screws don't hold well. I bought new screws for these and then used white vinyl tape to hide the black plastic angle mounts. I have the white chocolate furniture. The only flaws :)

Whole new office!

Beautiful design with beautiful finish, but assembly was difficult for the following reasons: - The guide had errors - Some images are too small - The 4 decorative sticks do not stand securely and fall. - You have to guess several forgotten numbers on the coins.

Beautiful design with beautiful finish,

I was disappointed to find the desk was finished in rather cheap contact paper that succumbs to corner damage easily. The contact paper on the hutch shelf had delaminated at one end. It did not appear that there was any adhesive present. The assembly instruction diagrams are poorly implemented. 2 of the diagrams seem to have been inspired by Escher in that they are not physically possible. My previous Bestar desk purchase of approximately 20 years ago was a much higher quality product.

I was disappointed to find

The desk was a nightmare to put together. I was sent two of the same side pieces (#33) and had to create holes myself to attach the desk together. Tried to contact Bestar twice and was never able to get a person on phone. Finally gave up and settled. Not what I expected for a piece that costs almost 1k... with no options for tech to build.

Missing Parts

The only reason this is not a 2 Star review is because the desk does look good once done. However, the construction techniques are inadequate in my opinion. I have ordered desks before with this type of construction, but they used better quality construction items. The green end that are supposed to expand when tightened did not do so. The tops popped off quite easily and had several pieces come apart when moving into place. Many pieces had to be drilled and put together with screws to make more solid. Overall, these desk are great when in place and quite functional. However, there is no way I would be able to move these desk again any distance without damaging them further.

Looks great when done, but construction techniques are subpar.

The screws are not the right size. They keep falling. After spending 8 hours on assembling I gave up on some parts.

Good price but assembly is a big problem

parts of this desk are literally the equivalent to cardboard. its a beautiful desk, I love the look and functionality of it but I know it will not stand the test of time, which is a true shame. we had to make new screw holes in places because it didn't line up, the screw covers don't go on well and a piece was damaged when we received it. there is no way the L shaped part of this desk will be moved without damage as my husband and I accidentally damaged a piece of the upper cabinet just assembling it, and I'm a totally weakling, we just held it in the wrong place. it had the potential to be great. :(

nice looking and functional, but terrible quality
